"When you're caught in the current of love." Now that songs stuck in my head. Thanks Stanger.

Byron

That would make sense. I intentionally did not double check any information. My friend and I couldn’t stop laughing at the idea of East Germany “condemning” Macgyver

_T-Bone_

I tossed a K-9000 upscale on youtube if anyone wants to see it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_KdJGHzGYo

Tim from New Hampshire

I think the East German that Anderson dated was Katarina Witt, who was a famous figure skater not a model?

Hello ActionBoyz, I've been living in Germany for about nine years, so here is my perspective on Germany's opinion of Mr. Hasselhof. As people have mentioned he was and still is a huge cultural icon because his biggest hit in Germany, "Looking for Freedom", was super popular in '88/'89 and he famously performed a concert as the Berlin Wall was falling. So anytime there is any remembrance of the Berlin wall coming down, Hasselhof gets attention. That said, despite yhis connection, he's not taken very seriously. But when I was asking my German friend about Hasselhof, he told me that he wasn't the only 1980s American TV star to try to make it big in Germany. Apparently, Richard Dean Anderson (from MacGyver) also attempted a music career in Germany! I was told he released some songs that weren't very popular, but he's most known in Germany for marrying the "most beautiful woman in the DDR" (i.e. East Germany). I guess there was a famous East German model who he eventually married, which created a lot of controversy as it was framed by the East German government and newspapers that this American "stole" the most beautiful woman in the country. Thought you might enjoy that added bit of trivia.

There was a some what interesting documentary on Irish Travelers and their use of bare knuckle boxing to settle disputes within the community called "Knuckle" from 2013.

Jack McReynolds

ABZ subscriber since 2018 and day one Dropout subscriber…but I do not engage with the D&D stuff. Just way too much!

Chris Koch

I'm sure this isn't the right place, but I respectfully submit Mean Guns (1997) by Albert Pyun. You've got your Ice-T. You've got your Christopher Lambert. You've got your Thom Mathews. And the pièce de résistance, you've got your Deborah Van Valkenburgh of HOTEL fame.

Justin Riley

I was surprised that none of the Boyz clocked that old Taco Bell

Fan_of_giants_420_69

None of them knew they were Stangerbots (aka I like your icon!)

David McElroy

Red One already on Prime.

Chabnormal

Anyone notice how the Richie Aprile actor disappeared at the end? 3 guys jumped in the thresher and only 2 jumped out! I was incredibly proud of myself for noticing that.

David McElroy

I love dropout and I love ABZ. I just don't interact with either fandom for nearly identical reasons.

Evan

Is Conspiracy Theory with Jesse the Body Ventura too new / modren for zombie squad? I miss Stanger saying Clocked... I can take the loss of Stanger bot but not Stanger clock

alex d

Idk why but “All that and tonight’s Bowling scores on Actionboyz” got me good

PatrickKilbrogan

Yes, exactly. Subscription based, but they post a few episodes on YouTube that you can sample.

slovakian roma on my dad's side. no connection to the culture since they came here in the 20s. they hit every negative stereotype about roma people... instantly got involved in crime when they got here. the patriarch was covered in tattoos. very unusual for the time. lost the car they saved and saved for because it got used in a bank robbery in Newark, nj. my grandma knew everything about card games and card tricks from her parents. wowed me as a kid. i do enjoy getting outraged at people for using "gypsy" because it's mostly misused by crystal toting white girls referring to themselves as "gypsy witches" etc on tik tok and insta

j f

I’ve never heard of dropout. It’s a college humour spin off?

itsyourcousinstjean

Rat boy is my new favorite addition to the ABEU

Salmon

Ify being like "... is that supposed to be Obama?" was incredible

Marc Davis

He gave a great presentation on Smartypants. Best part was him starting an Obama impersonation, stopping half way through when he realized the group might not like him doing it, and thanking Demi for finishing it for him.

WigeyInTheStreetsMitchyInTheSheets

Directed by Jonathan Frakes of Star Trek TNG fame!

Cole Trickle

They do feel overly safe, Ify feels like the only wild card based on how horny he is all the time

Cole Trickle

Hell yeah

God bless Gabrus for keeping us Thunder in Paradise heads in the conversation. Thunder is the boat's name!

FiddlersGreenDay

Oh also I love Dropout and loved Gabrus on different Dropout shows. But they do have a fandom that eats itself.

Marc Davis

Wasn't expecting the ending to be so urgent by foreigner

JoBrock Brobama

I vote for Dogch; a March full of dog movies.

Marc Davis

Listening now but thank you Stangerang for mentioning how weird his “argyle socks” read is.

David McElroy

I am usually so alone in remembering Clockstoppers that I sometimes think I just dreamed it. Thank you for the ref Stanger

Jenn

The last ten minutes of this had me laughing harder than I have in a long time. Stanger's drunk guy is the funniest thing I've seen in forever.

John Hedgepeth

I had to see what Garth Knight looked like. On searching it, I was delighted to see the suggested/ most searched for question “Who played Garth Knight” not far under an image of what could not more clearly be David Hasselhoff with a fake goatee.

David D.

Did you guys read Silo? I remember reading them when they first came out. He self published them on Amazon and they were dirt cheap. Hugh is laughing all the way to the bank.

Brash Tracks

At least we know he's bullet proof. So that means he's safe in public school.

Brash Tracks

How's Ratboy going to get out of this one?!

Andrew

My fiancé grew up in Germany and YES, the Hoff is a wildly huge deal there. I still don’t get it but it is indeed a real thing😅

Liz Arcury

I’m talking about Irish Travellers, which is different to Romani people, but you would probably get punched if you called a traveller that here. It can be acceptable in some contexts but it’s mostly insulting.

Alan

I like the 'clocked's

bloodflart

Let Stanger say “clocked” as many times as he wants — who are these psychos who clocked-shamed Stang?

Sean Hutchinson

sadly another month til my next Rat Boy update

David Powell

In college I had to take a speech class where a major assignment was a persuasive speech that the class took very seriously. I did a 38 slide power point presentation on why Keira knightly should marry me. Got a 96

Kevin Fennell

What's up secret cadre

KittyBittyButtStuff

I've been rewatching a lot of Columbo episodes this past year and its got a ton of exteriors all over Los Angeles and it is a blast to see those.

Two out of three action boyz in button downs? The Los Angeles Superior Court won’t know what hit it

The Cromulent Professional

I've never even heard of this show and I'm a 80s talking car buff.

Monster's Frankenstein

For the record I am a huge actionboyz fan and a dropout fan, they do a lot of funny stuff. Granted like so many things the other dropout fans tend to ruin it a bit. But I just don’t engage anywhere online so it’s easy for me to ignore.

TheClassiestHobo

A German friend told me Hasselhoff became a sensation in Germany after singing “Looking for freedom” in the end of the year main show in 1989. There’s also a small Hoff museum in Berlin with patches of his breast hair, right next to Hitler’s moustache obviously

BronsonAcapuko

Oh heck yes
