Creaming the pube

meatlazer1

If Steven Segal fell off a skate board, he would sound like the zoom meeting guy bruising a rib.

meatlazer1

who cares

bloodflart

I normally never read the comments. Who got mad at them for Kamala stuff, and why?

Sean

Rodgers making reference to Green Hell done by...The Misfits...not Dave Grohl..talking to you Stanger....fucking miss Stanger Bot and...that other character...was it a troll? Fuxk, sorry...Gorgon...my bad dude. I was hoping Gabrus would dive into the skate culture of the 90s..he made references to 411, Zoo York..maybe big brother...ahh those times..reckless. Rodgers is intimidating with his knowledge and wit, but...still likeable. Would love for you guys to do a show on Oahu, love the banter and inside jokes! Mahalo may mucho!much! Also..as far as theater etiquette, I'd like to propose starting Rodgers Angels...we would be in theaters facing the crowd with night vision goggles(thanks gabrus) and be...sure...not yo disrespect this...HOUSE!

Pacer Lee

Yo! Airborne is a classic.

RutgerHauerPowerHour

A bit late, but since Rodgers mentioned getting a Genesis emulator, I just thought I'd mention that we're currently in a bit of a boom regarding retro handhelds. You can get a device for 40$ that can very comfortably play NES, SNES, Genesis and Gameboy Advance etc. games and fit in a pocket. I'd recommend taking a look at the Miyoo Mini Plus, for instance, but there are so many good ones.

Connery's Codpiece

My neighbor had a Laser in the 80s. The door is ajar. The door is ajar.

Zach Beane

That explosion outro was an all-timer. Just the Stranger "Well..." at the very end had me dying

GanjaTattoos

I'm glad to hear that it's still there. For two straight years in the early-aughts, my Friday afternoons were spent there after a meal at the Fuddruckers next door.

Scott Blacula

Loved Stranger's hilarious story about saving seats at the Bay Street Theater in Emeryville. I see movies there all the time.

Michael Azcona

Rodgers with the sweet “last caress” reference.

jtrick33

Of all the admissions of being a bad kid that we've heard from Gabrus, stealing from the local skateshop might be the worst of them (burning down a field included).

Scott Blacula

I was tickled to hear Rogers name-drop Skitchin'. I remember the artwork had the word 'Bitchin' on it, which shocked my young self to see such a vulgar swear word on the case.

Joe Gunch

This was an all timer episode. Thanks sports boys!

Kris macfalda

Loved Stanger's story of saving seats. Recently I've been bringing my bike helmet into the theater to put on my seat while I get concessions. Better than a piece of paper.

Dan Skisak

Cleaming the Gube

Stephen Navarrete

The best ever Daffy Duck and most appropriate for Action Boyz fans…Daffy Duck working as an annoying door-to-door salesman and sells a guy some brass knuckles. https://www.dailymotion.com/video/xs3v3

Nathan Rodriguez

Is pronouncing ruin as “rune” how people from outside of California pronounce this word?

Nathan Rodriguez

Please do Eiger Sanction soon. It’s technically a sports boyz movie. Also the audiobook is excellent.

Nicholas Orloff

Action Boyz bandanas!

JamieQT

Crossing my fingers for the Josh Brolin/Sherilyn Fenn/Red Hots-led Thrashin' next year at this time.

Scott Blacula

I actually like those week one Giants jerseys lol.

Daniel_

gotta do Thrashin would love to hear the sportz boyz opinion on weather to wear the skull and dagger earring or just go with the hoop and the dagger

Adam Everitt

The funniest line in the Daffy Duck short Stanger was talking about is, "Then someone clipped Charlie in the ear with a chair and the the whole thing started again!" or, " The little guy got six months for kicking a cop!"

John Hedgepeth

Another one here. Actionboyz come to Rochester. Garbage plates on me

Palmer

We called it "hooky-bobbing" growing up, but that was in NE Washington, so it very well might be a regional thing.

Doctor Unk

Colonel Trac would have been in the ARVN, the South Vietnamese army. The Viet Minh fought against the Japanese in WWII and against the French in the First Indochina War.

Antti

I can't be the only one really wanting to see the Poochie Halloween costume, right?

Ashley

I know they were joking but that was a solid ABZ list of cars

RutgerHauerPowerHour

I don't want to be an ungrateful bitch (unless it prompts Rogers to make fun of me, that shit is hilarious) but for Sportstember next year I'd love to hear the Boyz discuss "Airborne" a movie about rollerblading? And "Possums" a movie where a highschool football team is so shitty they just start broadcasting made up games that begin to excite the townspeople.

Joe Morsi

you understand us.

The Duke of Eggslap

It’s not your fault buddy It’s crazy to think it’s your fault

away

I can't believe Stanger confused Norman Mailer and Neil Simon. They need to finally get a 20th century playwrights guy.

David D.

You shouldn't blame yourself.

David D.

Skitchin' is the most underrated game ever, in 30 years since I've played it this was the first time I've ever heard someone else mention it.

Jimjim

My mom had a Chrysler Laser when I was growing up and the voice thing was so fucking annoying, at one point it broke and just kept saying that the gas was low, it felt like the shittiest version of Kitt from Knight Rider

Berko Pierce

Holy shit, listening to Stanger lose his mind at Roger’s impression of the hurt rib guy had me cry laughing.

Steakmoss

Just a little info on the “The door is ajar” car. https://www.autotrader.com/car-news/miracle-1980s-talking-car-265020

Cole Trickle

Shout out to Tommy Guerrero who played Sam, “the one Latino skater kid”. Great skater turned musician.

Bokito Boy

Damn. Rodgers’ zoom call story got me. 😅

Crown Jules

I like the movie stuff but I subscribe for the seat-saving analysis stories

Flappy McGillicuddy-Jones III

Watching Thrashin for next sportember or skatebuary?

Arthur Newman

I’ve not been this psyched for a Monday podcast in a long time and it didn’t disappoint.

Patrick Boutwell

I may have just forgotten but did any of the Boyz bring up watching The Sympathizer on HBO a few months ago on Shadow Wolves during media diet? The novel was everywhere when it came out in 2015 and you'd always see it prominently placed in book stores for a couple years. This episode kind of jogged my memory because of the Vietnamese Anti-Communist Relief Fund things. There's a very fascinating history when it comes to the communities that emerged in the United States after fleeing the wars in South East Asia. Specifically too when it comes to LA/OC now and how it creates interesting political dynamics.

Scott Tammel

There was a baby-related scandal with a cover up?

Data Janitor

The baby-gate guy is my new favorite character.

Don Sanchez

Ed Lauter was also great in Death Hunt 1981

Let's Talk About Seth Baby!

Phil. You’re redeemed. I have never been more proud to see a patreon comment turnaround. Imagine if you just kept posting and kept being wrong about stuff, how embarrassing that would be

Joe B

Skitchin is still one of my favorite Sega games lol

BennieMac

I am far too lazy but I think there is a hyper niche Gleaming the Cube + Pokemon meme that can be made from this. "Brian used Skateboard Through the Glass.....It Is Not Very Effective."

Mitch Kapa

Really enjoyed the chat about kids and independence. I think the problem is just how car dependent we’ve made most of this country. I live in a place with great public services like parks, libraries, and rec centers, but the neighborhoods are bracketed on all sides by 6 lanes of 45 mph traffic. And the cars people buy now sit so high that anyone under 5 feet is practically invisible. So mom and dad usually just bite the bullet and drive. I’m looking at relocating to a more pedestrian friendly area so my kids can learn some independence before getting their drivers licenses, but to move to a place that’s both pedestrian and family friendly is like a million dollar decision.

Kevin Thomas Shane

The Sympathizer would’ve been way better if one of the RDJ characters was a skateboarding teen

Berko Pierce

jesus at least 2 or 3 times I have been tasked with saving seats and when the rest of my party walked in I met them in the aisle all stressed out like “I COULDN’T FUCKING DO IT MAN I TRIED BUT I FUCKED UP AND I COULDNT DO IT!”

SJ Masterton

Action Boyz Top 10 movie cars list: Buckaroo Banzai's Jet Car

Chabnormal

i remember them advertising this movie on TV when they changed the name to "In a Brother's Name" so that normal people might watch it

Bill

Dem boyz need some learning from a certain mister meyers.

David McElroy

And he also did the car chase in To Live and Die in L.A. Did not realize he was involved in Megalopolis, wow.

another morgan

interior, craft services table. Christian reaches over Gator's Swatch to access the Salsa Rio Doritos behind the pretzels. SLATER: SO I, UH, BEEN LOOKING OVER THIS SCRIPT FOR THIS PRETTY RAD STAR VEHICLE, BUT KINDA WORRIED MY LOVE INTEREST MIGHT BE A LITTLE ON THE "FEBURARY"SIDE OF ROMANCE. DO YOU HAVE ANY GIRLFRIEND ADVICE? ROGOWSKI: redacted redacted redacted redacted redacted redacted redacted

Lando Mo

Thank you for the shout out Gabrus!!! Love those guys.

Danielle Abramson

you gonna eat that dog?

bloodflart

Crazy that just this past week I bought the Criterion for Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid. Right before I watched it yesterday, that news just popped up on my feed.

Don Knott Steiner

Unsubscribing

Diarrhea_Every_Day

Fan from Rochester, NY here.

Stanger's Stache

Um… ACTUALLY it’s “Haddonfield”.

Diarrhea_Every_Day

Congrats!

Movie Donkey

Rodgers is thinking of Kruger. Wilhelm was his manager at the Yankees. 🫡 Kruger was in Broken Arrow also w Christian Slater. I'm embarrassed I typed this.

Phil Landry

Honestly slaters piercing spoke to me.

PlutoniumTorch

It never fails to make me laugh.

PlutoniumTorch

Loved this movie so much. Grew up skating in the 90s/2000s, and it was wild to see so many of my personal heroes at the time as kids in this movie, which must have been filmed soon after the olley was invented, changing skateboarding forever!

PlutoniumTorch

Stanger talking about the stuff he sends the boyz going unwatched hits hard.

PlutoniumTorch

Hell yeah

Will See

Jon’s RFK impression is top notch

Kat soh

Watched this for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it

Horace Jallowman

Unreal lol

Horace Jallowman

Tried to mourn Kristofferson with the Action Boyz Flashpoint episode, and found I imagined it. Settled for Blade :(

away

recently watched this + Thrashin’ b2b on acid w/ a buddy. we made a promise to each other that we would pierce an ear & rock a single dangling earring within the year. hasn’t happened yet, but it will. squelching on an acid pact is out of the question.

The Duke of Eggslap

I’ve never seen this. I honestly thought this was supposed to be Solarbabies. But then I remembered that was an orb, not a cube.

Don Knott Steiner

I watched Megalopolis yesterday (it's good) and saw the name of the stunt coordinator in the credits, Buddy Joe Hooker. Of course you may remember him as the guy driving the Corvette in Gleaming the Cube.

Data Janitor

This is off topic but I got married last weekend and in my wife's vows she was talking about how she loves my passion for my hobbies, books and video games and ect, and she also mentioned the Action Boyz and she even paused to do the Yoda "hmm hurumph." By the way, to be clear, she does not listen to the Podcast at all, this is just from her hearing me do it and attributing it to the Boyz. So anyways, just wanted the Boyz to know that they have been mentioned in wedding vows, if that's something they wanted to accomplish

Brix

If they got juiced up about the "eating the pets" thing, I can't wait for The Purge reaction..

The Buffmaster

Sounds like it’s Diddy’s cold open

erik nehring

My favorite thing about this movie is how much mental energy I spent before the movie thinking about the title. What could it mean? - [ ] Does the main character have to pass a geometry test at the end of the movie? - [ ] Is there a challenge to grind across the edge of a cubic sculpture in some corporate park? - [ ] Is there a sci fi element involving advanced cube technology? And then 30 seconds into the movie during the montage of everyone skating in the empty pool there’s an ADR line of one of the kids throwing out “aw yea yer gleaming the cube dude!” - I laughed way too hard. mystery solved immediately I guess.

David McElroy

First, Janitor reporting for duty. I hope they hit on the Tony Hawks Pizza hut truck.
