I went to Penn state and lived next to some of the men’s and women’s vollyball team and partied with them sometime. Nice giants. 2 of them were just at the Olympics again on the men’s team. One of the stories i heard was about the psu womens basketball coaches asking the v-ball coach how he trained them to jump so high, this was of course before the womens basketball coach was fired for "motivating" the team by calling them a "bunch of rug munchers"

Swimfan69

I wished rebel ridge was more “less-lethal” than non-violent. He should have been kicking way more ass throughout the movie

Swimfan69

The supercut of bullying tactics in "Airborne," is legendary. Sand in 1, Glue on another locker, pulling a Darr and stealing clothes from the shower (the bad guy sniffs the protagonist's shoes while stealing them), attempted vehicular manslaughter during DMV test and the best is pouring water on the toilet paper of this school which for some reason needs to be hung off the dividers by thick metal chains like they are in a prison ward... PLEASE COVER THIS FILM

Christopher Davis

Not sure if this has been shared, but did you see one of the cast members names is Sinjin Smith? Christopher St John Smith.

Yeah, I'm a Youngstown Ohio native, grew going to the original Handle's. We always felt crazy for thinking we had the best ice cream. I'm glad Handel's exploded (also, it's pronounced "handles") It's all over the place now. Several locations in Vegas and LA - the new one they're talking about is in a super popular part of Silver-lake not far from Headgum Studios.

Paulie_Saul.

“If you’re watching this, you probably have a Bollé wrist guard on.” Holy shit. I did a full spit take and had to apologize to the girl I sit next to in my office. I enjoyed the way you incorporated the marshal arts into this documentary about the Manhattan Beach legal system.

Dr. Pepper (for mama)

Hah, the 80s...horrible choice of song by B52s Roam for fight scene? I guess Love shack would be worse? I would have went with Planet Claire. Sounding off from Oahu, you guys are doing the Lords work( I'm atheist, go Rodgers!) Sorry, making comments as I watch, but, did the b62s have a contract with this film? And I feel this is more Autograph( turn up the radio) and..er..other bands? Like synthetic pop but hard core guitar when needed Thoughts? Also, for gabrus, cause he's open minded....cell buddy? Stoklas or Sinjin?

Pacer Lee

That sounds sad. I’m glad they don’t do movies like that, even ironically

Mossimo is the husband of Aunt Becky. They were sent up the river for the whole USC rowing team scam for their daughter. It’s a Sportstember miracle!

Sorry, but the Step-Aunt portion of the discussion was fucking hilarious. “Not by blood!” I had to rewind that segment and relisten like three times.

Hell yeah

The discussion of euphemisms is obituaries reminded me of a piece of dialogue from Patrick Marber's play (then film) Closer, where an obituary writer breaks down common euphemisms and their meaning: “If you say someone was ‘convivial,’ that means he was an alcoholic. ‘He was a private person’ means he was gay. ‘Enjoyed his privacy’ means he was a raging queen.”

I’m a hairstylist for 25 years plus 😉 flat top guys are usually cops or just asshole type guys. It’s a very specific cut and doesn’t serve most people but the ones that want it “typically” are so annoying about it. It’s also a very specific barber haircut that is not requested often as it is completely out of date. But the places I’ve worked if a man requested it, you know you are about to have to rangle around a serious ‘rude.

Emily McCauley

He’s with Krom now

Hammerthrust Von Sexron

I finished watching it just now. I think I agree overall with Rodgers. There is a surprisingly decent movie here even if Stanger’s right that it should’ve focused on the sports aspect. I guess it reminded me of Cocktail in the way it doesn’t focus on the thing it should. But unlike Cocktail, I feel like they juggled the genre mash-ups a lot better in Side Out. It definitely had more believable romances than the Cruise movie for sure.

Don Knott Steiner

Handel's is in LA now? Cosby used to get tubs of their butter pecan ice cream shipped to his house, which was a big claim to fame at the time. I also hope to hear the boys talk about Rebel Ridge on the next Shadow Wolves. Really enjoyed that movie

From Parts Unknown

Anybody want an Evian?

The ending of this episode had me laughing my ass off. Thank you Action Boyz!

Do yourselves a favor and search “airborne stylin” in YouTube

Andrew Lamberson

Okay, I guess the Coke Zero I had at lunch WASN’T iconic.

David Bauer

The funniest thing about the new White Men Can't Jump is that, instead of having two entertaining players with different basketball skills, both guys just take turns shooting stepback jumpers now. The 2nd funniest thing is that the new Billy Hoyle is a college ball washout with shitty knees who's trying to scrape together money for "a batch of stem cells" from the drug dealer at his gym, which he thinks will propel him to the G-League and an NBA contract. I kinda wish they'd do it for Shadow Wolves, it's so spectacularly bland and soulless.

Dark Angel Of The Year

They gotta do Red Rock West at some point. It's one of Dennis Hopper's greats.

David Bauer

Since I was a kid, every time I see Volleyball being played I hear "nobody nobody!!" in my head. I'd forgotten it was from this movie though.

Steve Henderson

Great, now John Kassier is going to sue the Boyz

Adam Kronfeld

Red Rock West was great. J.T. Walsh was taken from us too soon.

Adam Kronfeld

I learned from my sister this year that there is a whole sub-genre of hockey-based romance novels, so anything is possible

Adam Kronfeld

Just checked the action boyz fan duel: Rodge’s girlfriend had 100k on him defending every element of this movie!

Alec Ogg

Wow, not only is it supposed to be Little Caesars, but the actual slice he’s eating in this movie was indeed Caesars. That bubbled up burnt cheese is unmistakable, plus the doughy almost undercooked crust is their signature, and hardly any visible sauce dripping from it. They weren’t playing around here. This isn’t like the Turtles movie using a pie that didn’t look anything like real Dominoes. They actually put the subpar product on camera.

Don Knott Steiner

UW-Milwaukee is Black and Gold

A real estate lawyer, again. I'm looking for a real estate novelist

Wiley was like the Styles for this, every movie back then had one

Rog, the inventor of volleyball is from North of Buffalo, Lockport. Kinda trivia I figured you'd dig, lol.

Filthy Phillips

They’ve covered a few movies co-starring Annabella Sciorra, and I think of that one every time.

Frank Kimball

"YOU BLEW IT!" -Cop Land

bloodflart

Speaking of noir, I saw that Romeo Is Bleeding was on Prime. For a movie that reviewed extremely poorly upon its release, I liked it quite a bit. Would make for an interesting episode. It’s trashy enough for Rodgers.

Don Knott Steiner

He probably played at UW Milwaukee which has a Yellow and Black color scheme.

HamDangler

I’m not a big fan of ‘Rounders’ either, but director John Dahl’s ‘Red Rock West’ and ‘The Last Seduction’ make me wish there was a Noir Boyz/Noirvember theme month. Even Dahl’s much less effective ‘Kill Me Again’ starring Val Kilmer would be great to hear covered; And the fun ‘Joy Ride’ (2001) has come up multiple times because of its J.J. Abrams script.

Frank Kimball

listen to this episode while you wring out your nut bag

Data Janitor

Since you’re almost fresh out of classic Arnold movies to do, and you need a reason to go on Arnold tangents, you guys should do his Streets of San Francisco episode on Zombie Squad. Also please eventually do the Baywatch episode guest starring Hogan, Savage, and Flair.

Don Knott Steiner

Just watched the Dynasty Typewriter show. Love you criminals!

Finally! The Boyz discuss a Pixar movie: “In Side Out.”

Can't wait for you to cover Soul Man.. I can quote the "lesson learned" dialogue from the end of the movie. Is that bad?

The Buffmaster

This made me want to check for vintage Mossimo t-shirts online. Some definitely better than others.

Don Knott Steiner

Rodgers to Gabrus - "you just learned road head was different than road rage" Gabrus- "yea a guy rear ended me and I got out and sucked his dick because I was so pissed" Gabris is so quick witted it's crazy. I wish these 3 had a straight up improv podcast where they did improv based on the movies they watch or something. We get little snippets during the episodes but a full pod of that would be awesome. I'd pay whatever $ they wanted for it.

Brix

I think the Crypt Keeper might be under that Slick Willy mask

Brix

The fact that this was released in 1990 feels wrong, the vibes here are pure mid-80's Hollywood cheese. Also, I'm amazed that C. Thomas Howell had a career after the appalling Soul Man.

Wesley Dolan

If any Janitors aren't sad bastards like me and haven't pre-ordered Tom Selleck's memoir on Audible, good news! It's been delayed a whole month, so now it'll drop mid ninja-vember. Can't bode well for the book but when has that ever stopped us.

Gilligan(The marooned Ranchero)

Rebel Ridge was the real deal, now I need to find a way to drop MCMAP in a conversation so I can then explain what it means

Eugenio Triana

I definitely “blew it” but even I got a live stream ticket. ABZ FOR LIFE

PizzaCrustPunk

Enjoyed this, and subsequently, pro beach volleyball a little too much, for a little too long when I was a 10-year-old future janitor watching this repeatedly on HBO one summer. 😎

Matthew Munz

First 🫵 Finally a Pixar movie 🍿 like a warm John Lasseter hug 🤗
