That’s crazy, Stephen King also has a Hey-Kid-I’ll-Blow-Ya moment in It! A weird reoccurring theme 😅

Liz Thompson

Just passed the Deep Cover episode! I’m catching up after an audiobook hiatus. May hit it from both ends, because I’m impatient and this comparison sounds interesting.

Dragonhardt

So I’m doing an ActionBoyz relisten and just happened to hit on Deep Cover with Goldblum and Fishburne right before this. It’s an excellent watch and listen double feature. Watching this movie basically do the same thing with a reverse of both race and quality was wild.

Michael Madsen is way too clean and pretty in this. Whenever you see actual bikers they used as extras in a scene they're impressively ugly and disgusting.

RIP to the nearly silent cohost

RIP legend, good boy

Just wanted to add to the Artie appreciation Gabrus - much love to you and Tiff. X

Stanger's "they're two good guys, their friends" after Gabrus mentioned Tommy Bahamas and Hilfiger really got me

Bring me the Head of Warren Oates

I'm down to spend $4 renting Young Guns 2 because it also coincides with my William Petersen thirst watch list, if that helps

Oh I so hope for a Vision Quest episode. It would be enough to make me bump to Shadow Wolves. I saw it in theaters at age 11 and it started my lifelong obsession with working out. And apparently, based on what BR said, homoeroticism.

Gene Milder

Awww...Stanger with the "Where the red fern grows" reference....also a porn

Pacer Lee

That’s what I was looking for

Sloc

I love Bear Bottoms

Irvin

After hearing Gabrus and Stanger talk about Muzzle, I watched it on a flight today and it’s exactly the movie you think it is. Very dumb + very fun, the story is a mess but Eckhart plays it so earnestly that it’s interesting while being a breeze to watch. I hope the Boyz watch it and discuss as a companion to the K9 episode

Dustin

I illegally obtained this movie and my version actually had 'Men of Steel' as the title. Very porno esque. Can see why it was changed.

I first went to the Popeye Village when I visited for a family wedding I thought it was very immersive, Gladiator was being shot in Malta then and we were staying at the same hotel as the cast maybe that’s a shadow wolf call for another time. I was obsessed with it and always dreamt of going back. I was 4 I think when I originally went and it was a disappointing return visit especially as I had insisted and no one else in my family wanted to go. There’s some charm to it but artist village in Ta’Qali is way more interesting if anyone visits.

Here in 3 parts is the only place I’ve found it

re: people not being able to handle harm or threat of harm to children after they have kids of their own - this is King's signature move and the reason I have a hard time reading his books (the other reason is that 2/3 of them are bad)

First 3/4s are 8 outta 10, last 1/4 is 4 outta 10... evens out to a recommend from me, though.

David McElroy

It is my opinion that the thing that created a thinny in the Mist was, in fact, that very Buik 8. Perhaps from a different version of earth and a different time. Someone’s twinner opened that trunk and it never shut again.

Richard Trickle

I wonder if Rodgers is reading these King books and feeling the path to the tower beneath his feet. If he sees a rose growing in a field and a part of him knows it needs to be protected. I wonder if he keeps an eye out for the low men in strange cars…perhaps a Buik 8?

Richard Trickle

Don’t see “Trap.” It’s probably too late tho. You guys fell for the trap.

Paul

Charlie Sheen is one of the all time great ‘waking up from a nightmare covered in sweat’ actors

Julian Neuweiler

I remember this one from the video store era. Never seen it but the box art always reminded me of a couple different Bob Seger album covers.

Rich Zerbian

I'm right there with Gabrus about cast iron not working well with eggs. We're the same, him and me. You don't see a lot of darkrooms anymore in movies.

David Bauer

May he rest in peace

From Parts Unknown

I dunno. Charlie Sheen’s look was somewhere between Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins, circa 1980. More Yacht Rock than biker.

Nathan Rodriguez

Anyone else think the old Native American dude’s voice sounded like a bad dub by Joe Mantegna? Once I had that image, I couldn’t get it out of my mind.

Jim

Who shut his door when he rode to the wedding?

Kevin B

My dad once went to Malta and sent me a postcard from the Sweethaven village in Popeye.

Erik Kang

Hi-Side (the groom at the biker wedding) played by Robin Williams in heavy makeup. Amazing secret cameo

Endless Mic

If we cant find one we’ll swap it out.

Gabrus, Rodgers, and Stanger

Note to self: if I ever find myself in financial dire straits, Popeye always sells

Eugenio Triana

After watching this I realized I may be a lot of things, but I ain’t no fucking dildo.

Joe

how did Stanger not just take that watch after seeing dude forgot about it for 2 years? bet it's still there. eat the rich!

bloodflart

Trap was fun until it had one of the stupidest third acts I’ve ever seen

PatrickKilbrogan

For your consideration to discuss on the show: French pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati’s huge member costs him the gold: https://youtube.com/shorts/_DmZIO7s3AM?si=uJPEP7ve90ucsB2X

This movie has a car in it. This links it to The Italian Job which also has cars in it.

Adam Kronfeld

Fiorentino was/is an absolute smoke show. She and Maura Tierney - more the latter, though - occupy the same space in my brain.

Anybody know how to stream the pilot of the equalizer?

The Bikeriders was fun I liked being in that world. Make for a cool show.

Anyone else feel really bad for Virgil? Like... he had to walk home thru the desert, and our guy never said sorry at the end.

David McElroy

I had a friend who was a long haul trucker and they give each other nicknames. His nickname was Pancake because he liked pancakes.

Rebe K

Was this a HBO Thursday Night Prime movie? Was that a thing? Also, my 3 month old son’s name is Sidney. 5 stars.

Hammerthrust Von Sexron

Props to Piny of Beverly Hills for their exceptional contribution to cinematic mullets.

Just barely hearing Seagal around 21/22 minutes almost knocked me out.

Virgil was also the bodyguard for The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiasi

Marc Davis

Loved how this movie portrays a cops downward spiral into an out of control biker, who reluctantly does one line of coke and gives a light beating to thugs who tried to rob him. "You're not a cop anymore"

Malcolm Sweet

Not as good as "The Fan" poem

ZIPPO I pour another shot of vodka and see my reflection on the back of a silver Zippo. Like a mirror in an amusement park, a little crooked, a little strange. Never underestimate the value of a Zippo. Michael Madsen.
