I probably wouldn't have seen this movie if not for this podcast, and I loved it. The ActionBoyz is adding value!

David Bauer

Gotta suggest Soviet and Yugoslav movies. Since there's been westerns lately, White Sun of the Desert is a really beautifully shot "red western" filmed mostly in Turkmenistan. The Battle of Neretva is also on YouTube and has Yul Brynner as an awesome sapper and Orson Welles as the leader of serbian Nazi collaborators.

I’m a janitor, not a contractor- but I would think that fixing up one of those old houses is a fortune. New wiring, new plumbing, ac units, windows and doors - it’s probably easier to start fresh.

Hammerthrust Von Sexron

I legit stood up and took a bow at the end of this episode. Thank you Action Boyz

PizzaCrustPunk

The biggest bombshell reveal since "I used to be a stripper". Might even be bigger.

Antti

Rodgers, if you’re ever in Atlanta check out the Plaza Theater on Ponce De Leon Ave. great old theater that shows Rocky Horror every Friday night among other classics during the week. In fact, I know they’d love an Action Boyz night there!

Matthew

I used to work at Good Luck Bar, it was my first door/barback job. Such a cool building... and being right next to the Vista, it really gave you an opportunity to have a drink and see a movie like it was LA in the 60's. I once carded Jason Mantzoukas and a smoke show of a date, and I mentioned, "I really like your podcast"... as they walked in I heard her say... "You have a podcast?!?!"... and he just started laughing like I had just killed game. Also, apropos of nothing, but we had a tiny parking lot with one way spikes, and at least once a month a drunk person would drive onto Hillhurst instead of exiting through the alley and blow out 2-4 tires. Only time I've seen it actually happen in person.

Conor Hunter

How has strangers best nickname never been mentioned? According to his mom on dumbbells “clear and present danger Stanger”

Badder fried fish

Not on topic but just picked up a Special Edition double sided dvd of Rambo First Blood part 2 with a short doc called We Get to Win This Time

Oldmancoyoteface

I thought it was gross when Reg moved the trash can while holding the Twizzlers. The Twizzlers made contact with the trash can and then she kept eating them! Nasty.

Antti

Stanger, RE: Mummy, you're thinking of Tales From The Darkside: The Movie.

Scott Blacula

Also I got to shout out Rebuilding Exchange in Chicago, if you're in the area take a class. We get wood donated, pull out the nails and make stuff. We always have a good stock of old growth lumber which is what they were talking about, beautiful historic wood for good prices.

Dan Skisak

I can't remember names that I should remember, but when Stanger mentions "Bluey" I know exactly who he's talking about. Awesome brain.

Dan Skisak

I just was made aware there is a bar in Pittsburgh called Coughlin’s Law. I think the boyz should do a live show in Pittsburgh at Coughlin’s Law and everyone can dress as fire marshals, water dogs, or Bryan Brown

Roy McAvoy

Sole Survivor is also a Christmas movie

Clifford

Dan Harmon’s bar is The Drawing Room in Los Feliz. Seriously dark den of problem drinkers. They open at the crack of dawn so it’s a favorite go to for film crews who wrapped a night shoot at 6am and want to get some drinks Saturday morning before bedtime. Rustic Inn across the street is a little less depressing of a place and also has the best chicken wings in town….fun fact.

Pod Ween Satan

Just listened too Gabrus on the Newcomers podcast, It's a great episode. It made me miss raised by tv. They let some juicy Action Boyz news slip too.

Gilligan(The marooned Ranchero)

Here in France fanny packs or European carry-alls are worn by street dudes and are often seen as a sign of ghetto culture. So perhaps in an alternate reality French stanger would be a badass kid on the block with that Batman bag.

Jeremy Nathaniel

Good episode. Rodgers should be running the show. Gabrus can’t read his notes.

Tom Nagel

Michael Bowen, who plays Dupree in this, is Nicolas Cage’s romantic rival in ‘Valley Girl’ and a half-brother of Keith and Robert Carradine in real life.

Frank Kimball

James Jones references Aqua Velva a lot in his WW2 trilogy—particularly in regards to alcoholics who can’t afford alcohol and drink aqua velva. All three books are a good read. The Thin Red Line is almost a comedy with how cynical it is.

Charlie Horgan

Listening to this while watching the big E. Very distracting.

SJ Masterton

Have some goddamn respect. Clyde is an ape.

Antti

With all this love for Geoffrey Lewis, could we PRETTY PLEASE, finally get one of the Eastwood Monkey movies? Thank you 🙏

The Buffmaster

Now that I’m older, I can’t unsee the guy that is the leader of the Mall Zombies as zombie Jello Biafra.

Nathan Rodriguez

Gumball Rally, think Cannonball Run with a 100% 70’s essence, possible (left field) choice for the podcast? Has an early Raul Julia just eating the scenery

Canadian Day Player

Gabrus had a hard time accepting that those were MAC-10s, not Uzis. #guntalk

Antti

Great empty city sequence of mid 70’s Manhattan https://youtu.be/XTT1_JZp2Sg?si=I5raLlqBaPkNJn_T

Canadian Day Player

My dad was never a fanny pack guy but he was definitely a rubber coin pouch guy.

Daniel_

DVDA. 8 balls 2 holes

Chabnormal

Game Over Man is hilarious check it out if you haven't seen it (that's not really Gabrus' bootyhole)

bloodflart

Oh wow, I can’t believe you guys haven’t done ‘Chopping Mall’!

Shmomar

Saw this movie in the theater when I was 9 years old. I went with a big group of kids for my sister’s 12th birthday. Typical 80’s - our parents just dumped us all off at the theater with zero adult supervision. Good times. I absolutely love this dumb movie.

Nathan Rodriguez

Hec torrrrrr

The Eric Roberts Experience

In the UK, the word "fanny" is extremely offensive, so they call them cunnypacks.

Pål Christian Andersen

Criterion has literally released The Rock and Armageddon on DVD so it’s wild that Rodgers’ ex was so turned off by Point Break

Alex Elani

Dr Frank Zales?

bloodflart

I’d say they don’t make em like this anymore but they never did

PatrickKilbrogan

I liked Reggie’s boots

Joe B

Can’t wait to get my telescope out to check out this eclipse!

Hammerthrust Von Sexron

Perfect for my drive to the eclipse. My Boy Scout troop did target practice at Los Alamitos, hope I don’t need it today.

John

Stone's a good kid.

Adam Lane

I’m not crazy, I just don’t give a fuck.
