NEW CONTENT!
Dear Patrons!
Today is 5th of the month which means basically one thing: time for a brand new Brixel update! This month we focus on Usables, as requested by you in the Patron poll. But there are some extras as well! :)
You can download your version of the pack from the posts tagged as "Download - latest". Please make sure that you follow the installation instructions, so that the pack can work properly.
Before we dive into new content, there are two things worth mentioning:
1. There is a new version of BSL Shaders available: v8.1.01. We recommend to always use the newest version.
2. Brixel partially supports Physics Mod by haubna. The mod makes it possible to turn Brixel mobs (!) into little brick pieces (!!!) upon killing. More information below.
A short summary of the new update:
The Usables Update brings a good amount of usables like Ladders, TNTs, Minecarts, Bookshelves, Note Blocks and more, in Brixel-style!
The long awaited Chest model is finally here, so you can now store your precious goods without needing to see vanilla chest anymore! :)
Minecraft is all about mining and minecarts, so we've created a new model for Minecart, as well as all of the different rail types!
Be sure to check the new models of Jukebox and Note Block - they received their Brixel overhaul, but still resemble the vanilla blocks!
There is also a handful of freshly textured items that you may find useful. You can now carry Lava and Water in Brixel Buckets. The bricky ores will now pop from the Ore blocks when mined.
We've also tweaked a few of the older common blocks like Stone, Dirt and grass, to make the 3d details look better.
We are also making our first steps into the world of mobs. Yes, you've heard right. We've created the first Brixel mob - a Creeper! We are quite happy about how he turned out and how he fits the Brixel aesthetics. We hope that you share our thoughts :)
Creepers and TNTs have new sound effects - real life bricks were used to create the "boom" sound!
But what is even more interesting about the Creeper is that he can be chopped into small bricky pieces. This looks really amazing!
If you want to check out this little cool feature, you will need a few mods (some experience with running mods is required). You will need to install Fabric Mod, OptiFabric, Optifine as Fabric mod and Physics Mod from haubna. There are tutorials on the internet on how to make it work. When it's done, you need to tweak Physics Settings in the game - set "Mob Physics" to "Blocky" and turn off all of the other physics. Note: the mod works properly only with SEUS PTGI shader.
We will continue working on mobs for the upcoming updates - maybe we can even dedicate a whole update just for the mobs!
There is a lot more that the new update has to offer, so go check it out for yourself! :)
