Trial of grasses - 512x test

Hi guys!

Some of you asked me if it's possible to do something with the grass models, as they are a bit "flat" when looking at them from a sharp angle.

This concerns Grass and Tall Grass. Those models are created using Parallax Occlusion Mapping (POM) - the same method that was used for rest of the blocks.

With POM, grass models are treated as one surface - which makes them more FPS friendly.  The downside of this method is that they look "flat" when you line up with them (see picture above).

I did some tests with grass created as normal geometry (which makes them look full-3d), instead of POM. The results show that the performance impact is not noticeable, at least on higher end machines.

It would be great if you guys could test how the new grass impacts FPS on your setups. I'm attaching new files to this post. Feel free to comment under. I will also do a poll in few days so that we can decide if we go for the old or the new grass.

And by the way, I fixed the Tall Grass so that it's rotated randomly 90 degrees (the same way as normal grass). It's already fixed in test files here and will be implemented in the next update.
