Rough Design for Jaws Shark Cosplay

Jaws Shark is in progress!

Realized that I haven't posted anything about it yet so here is a super rough sketch by JakeScribbles of the Shark design.

I wanted to create something that had a similar texture and color to a Great White Shark so right now I am using a stretch white spandex and then dying/painting it to have the gray gradient.

The cosplay will have arm socks that I am hoping to put in slits to represent gills. I have some ideas to see if I can get them raised up a bit so they are more noticeable.

The Shark will have netting on it (connects the top and bottom bikini as well as a long sarong) as if it swam through something. Me and Jake agreed that it would be a really cool idea to incorporate the yellow barrels from the 1st movie and have mini ones dangle from the netting.

Also figured having a life preserver ring and maybe in order to replicate the Jaws movie poster get a naked barbie doll to put on the netting.

The hair would be shorter. I bought a Hansel from Arda Wigs and plan on adding wefts to it so that it has a gradient.

Then of course I am including fins and shark teeth. When making gijinkas (humanoid versions of things that are not human) its important to incorporate key characteristics. What make a character... that character. For the Jaws Shark its obviously the fins and the shark teeth. Next week I will be playing around with foam to make all the fins.

As for the legs... I want to do something kind of sporty so I am thinking the shoes would be more like a ankle brace and will also have a knee brace (with fins of course!)
