Working with Foam Clay/Foam Wigs Mini Tutorial!

I’ve been getting tons of questions about how I made my Tiny Tina foam wig. Figured I’d share little tips with you guys throughout this month <3

For all your support Patrons will get first access to these little tutorials before the public gets to see them.

CLAY FOAM IS MY FAVORITE THING EVER.

Seriously where has it been all my life?!

If I could I would use it for    E V E R Y T H I N G.

Although realistically if I were to do that I would have to spend way more money on buckets of foam clay than I am financially ready for.  Also it would take a significantly longer time to wait for all that foam clay to dry before I could even do anything with it.

Therefore I am always looking for ways to save on how much Foam Clay I use on projects.

One way that I found works really well is the use of tin foil.

You can use tin foil to create the basic shape of whatever you are making (lets say... maybe a thick anime wig spike like the ones I have on my Tina wig).  Then you can use foam to cover it.

Yes you could straight up cover it in foam clay.

Or you could even glue a piece of craft foam to it then foam clay to fill things like gaps.

This method allowed me to save so much foam clay.  While at the same time it kept my wig as light as possible.

BONUS TIP!

Gotta fill a gap? I know I had to for the bottom part of my Tina wig because at first I didn’t get the shape as perfect as I wanted. To have more volume... stuff some tin foil in the gap then glue craft foam on top of it!

I want to make more tutorials for you guys... what do you guys want to learn?
