Tiny Tina Cosplay Shoes Tutorial /how to BOOT COVERS

The easiest shoe to do was the Mary Jane styled shoe.  I just found a shoe that worked and completely painted it!  The only thing to note about the shoe is that when you paint the sole of the shoe … the paint will want to peel off the more you bend it.  In this case mix modge podge in with the acrylic paint and it will allow for more flexibility for when the paint goes to dry.

And now this sucker… was interesting…..

First thing you are going to want to do is grab a shoe… any shoe works.

Put the shoe on.

Wrap your foot in plastic wrap.

Then wrap in tape.

Trace the design of the shoe on your foot.

Carefully cut the pattern off your foot.

Once you have the pattern you can cut the pieces out.  I have the shoe separated into different parts.  From the pattern I made… I was able to cut out the side parts (section that says “in”…. also include the piece above the ankle).

I then broke down the pattern further by cutting out the orange pieces that would go on top of the gray piece.

Orange band around ankle.

Orange strips going down the shoe.

And finally I measured and made the tongue of the shoe.

All pieces are doubled.  So I put in a little bit of seam allowance and sewed the pieces together (with double the interfacing) before flipping it inside out so I have nice thick pieces.

All pieces are directly sewn onto the existing shoe (or glued for hard to reach places).

Closure for the shoe is very strange because I don’t actually use laces (the laces are painted on).  I handsewn the tongue of the shoe to the sides as far as I am allowed to slip my shoe on and off.  Then the open part has a hook and eye sewn in so I can close the gap further after squeezing my foot in.

And both are actually very comfortable!

Hope this helps!  Let me know if you have anymore questions!
