How important is being able to play in your browser?

Hello everyone, I just have a quick new poll here about being able to play in the browser. I've been trying to work on another project when I have time and I'm trying to move on outside of Twine, however I know a lot of people just use the web version of Friends of Mine.

So my question is how much being able to just play the game in the browser is to you all? Would having to download and run the game be a detriment to your experience?

I was trying to work with Visual Novel Maker to have better control over visual elements and it can export to both PC and Mobile. It can natively export to Windows, Mac, and Linux, but I actually found out after posting this that it can export to HTML as well, but it seems awfully janky. So there actually shouldn't be any problems so long as I can actually make the HTML export work properly.

What were you thinking of as an alternative, and how difficult is it to support that solution across multiple OS's ?

I am curious how many do, however I think plenty of people have made it clear that they use the browser exclusively, so the last thing I would want is for anyone to not be able to play.

I’d do a poll which asks who plays on browser instead, see how many people actually don’t download it so you know if it’s worth doing browser anymore.
