To Clarify...

... the above is really only aimed at those who've been long-term Patrons back in July.

So if you're totally new here, and/or you only just signed up in August after an absence, feel free to ignore this post. It doesn't apply to you.

That said, I'm planning to run a poll on whether I should continue down this whole pausing Patreon for a month. Or not. Not only does it always seem to confuse a few people who appear AFTER I pause charging, but I've been told very recently that I'm one of very few Content Creators who actively still does it semi-regularly.

I thought I was doing the right thing by not charging for the periods of time when I'm not doing anything here. But according to some, some Content Creators leave it up to the Audience to decide for themselves whether they want to dip out and then come back later: as long as the Audience has been told in advance that the Content Creator is going to take a break for a month.

I've got a lot of admin stuff to do, so this will be the last (planned) post for today (Monday 4th August)... and I'm not planning to run the poll this week or anything, but it's something to bear in mind. What do you think? Kindly let me know in the comments below or the new chat... whatever works.

I would definitely say you are right. There are times when you need a well needed break and that is understandable so pausing for that time period makes sense to do so. I think it’s good and you also communicate and quite transparent on when you do and how long

A note of caution in that Patre1's business model seems to lead content creators to burnout. Especially if it is one person working alone. We cannot just expect a faucet flow of content for an entire year, the human mind does not work like that. Sure a buffer helps, but over the span of a year, a minimum of one month off aligns with civilized nations' practice.
