About That Update...
Added 2024-03-13 07:13:26 +0000 UTCSo last night, this platform updated its public-facing news site with two major things.
First, the Transparency Report, which details their Guidelines Enforcement policy, and how successful they’ve been in addressing contentious issues and taking action against accounts in breach of the rule, illustrated as such:

It’s dry reading but essentially, it’s a press release publicising the methodology that the platform has taken and is going to take. The results of their efforts last year are published below:

But the main issue is that the Guidelines themselves have been amended, briefly mentioned here on their Policy Updates post. Some provided an interesting compare-and-contrast from earlier in the month, and the actual Guidelines themselves. One such amendment directly addresses a certain subset of accounts on here.
Not this (which is generally the 1st time I’ve ever seen them publicly acknowledge the fandom):

But moreover, this:

Understandably, this very specific addendum has set off alarm bells for very open adipose-admirers, who directly serve and/or cater to their audiences and I know several individuals who will be adversely affected by it. One content creator I know of has already moved sideways onto a different platform. We all know the one, right?
As for what I’m going to do…? For the moment, nothing. I rather need the funds coming in to feather my nest ahead of the holiday in September. T'is very telling which way the wind is blowing, what with what happened the tail end of 2023. It almost can't be helped, given the aims of the company to become a publicly trading body, and therefore more subject to scrutiny from third-party organisations wishing to keep their noses clean; something I've gone on at length about already, in various posts under the Important Information tab.
All this said, I wouldn't blame anyone for peacing out entirely after this month on here.
Still, I hope this provides more context.
Thank you for reading, I'll keep you aware as best I can.

Well how far will the pendulum swing this time? The trope about the Victorians making covers for piano legs to defend the pianos’ modesty is ringing true more than ever.
