Rotten wood in the original happened in a break after Neri started speaking to him and he was freaked out, and before he blows up at her. In the novel I always kinda had a problem with just...not talking for hours when it's obviously talking time and how it didn't fit normal interactions. Here it's shortened up but essentially lots of chapter 12 is shuffled about. we'll hit most of the big points but we might have to shuffle it into future stuff as 12 is a big info dump in the novel that never sat with me super well.
