INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE E3 - UNCUT

Comments

Lol the cat comments reminded me of the meme "I can excuse X but I draw the line at animal cruelty" 😆😆

Joanna

The banter between the two of you while reacting to this episode was fantastic! I will add that I wouldn't get to hopeful about that list of vampire powers. There are some basic gifts like reading the minds of humans, no longer aging and usually hear the thoughts of other vampires except for your progeny. Other gifts are more nuanced and a combination of inheritance, bloodline, age and aptitudes you already had that got enhanced, It is similar to the way that we're all human and have different abilities once you get past our basic human skills.

This series is so good, red flag central. Love Lestat and Louis. Loved the reaction to this episode. It’s only gets better I can’t wait to see how Alex and Josh react to the rest. The one liners from Alex and Josh in this video were brilliant and so funny 🤣

Clash

God I forgot just how much is going on in this episode. That red flag counter sure is going up.

Florence

I love how everyone is so concerned for the cat haha

Soraya

Claudia! <3 <3 Love her character!

Stone27

I defently agree with Josh....Not the Cat!!! 😢😄

Steffi K.

I’m loving you guys reacting to this show, Lestat and Louis are everything to me.

skmj

Yes, Louis and Lestat are VERY toxic (spoilers: it gets worse) but they do love each other very much and are obsessed with each other. It's all very unhealthy and they're both hypocrites. When Lestat said one too many "of course"s, I knew it wasn't going to be okay, haha. I'm really excited for you guys to watch the rest of this. I can't wait to see your reactions to how it ends. ;)

Jamie

Hey guys! Fun reactions - how about maybe you watch or even re-watch the 1994 movie with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt "Interview with the Vampire." I think that might be great fun!

Jeffrey Duteil

I’m with Josh on the animals 🤢

Charity Rose Elkins

i'm thrilled every time you post a reaction to this show. i love it so much. re: you questioning if you're reading too much into it by drawing parallels between queerness and vampirisim - you are NOT! in fact, the first vampire was lesbian. vampire tropes are great allegories for queerness; as josh jokingly compared, "blood-sucking monsters and queers" - well, replace blood by another word and you've got a great example... (i'm half joking with this). no, but for real - on top of that, louis himself drew parallels between his own queerness and his vampirism when he said, in episode 2, "[lestat] was my mentor, my lover and my maker [...]; death, rebirth, coming out, homicide [...]". i've tried finding essays on the subject, and i found this one, specific to iwtv: https://www.vox.com/culture/2022/10/14/23404308/interview-with-the-vampire-gay (there are multiple other thinkpieces that can be found about queerness and vampirism in general, too).

lo !!

There's actually something to why we tend to be more upset at animal death than human death. If you think about it, it kind of makes sense in a weird way. As humans, our babies are born small and helpless, right? Some animals give birth and their young are already off on their own and can take care of themselves, but not humans. So our brains are hardwired to see small, helpless tiny things and go "must protect." Small animals trigger this same instinct, I think. Whereas an adult human doesn't ping our lizard brains the same way, and so we react more negatively to a hurt child or hurt animal than we do a hurt adult. Seems weirdly heartless, but it makes sense from an evolutionary standpoint. (Not to get too deep about it or anything, ha!)

Kaci

I’m with you Josh….. never the cat 🐈‍⬛ 😢

Marie

Uh-oh, he's getting Bitey 🤣I think I have to agree with Josh about the cat and other animals .

Ali Laura

“Did he even try to read the cat’s mind?” Bahaha. I love you Josh haha.

Jacqui Chesterton

I have to admit, I'm more with Josh with the animal killings. You could kill a million people in a film, but the moment an animal gets injured, my heart breaks. Just a brief history lesson. I believe the show started in 1910. The US didn't enter the World War until 1917, so everything in this episode would have occurred around that time. No spoilers, but as you can imagine, things are going to get progressively worse with each episode. It's insane!

Chris Metzger

BY THE WAY Claudia in the books is 5 years old, in the movie she's about 8 or 9. In this she will be about 14 when you meet her (supposedly lol the actress is 19) They had to age her up for child labor reasons. Claudia was a representation of Anne Rice's grief of her own daughter passing away at 5 years old.

Chris E⁷

I’m so excited for your reaction to the next episode!

Dd44🩷💜💙

"Mon cher, try a pussy!" I died!! 🤣🤣🤣

Susanne

YAAAASSS! SO HAPPY you posted this! I had to skip past the kitty scene though, that was rubbish he should have just eaten the ALREADY DYING criminal

Chris E⁷

On my list to watch today! That is after I play some Fortnite.....lol

D.A. Rowley

I have to work myself up to watching this! I'm such a softy but I will push through..once its day time! 🤣🤣

Nikki Hearn

This gets crazier every episode, but I guess it suits the season 😅 Are you planning on doing something christmassy next? Like “Single All the Way” (would love to know your thoughts on the mother and the rest of that meddling lot). 😂 And some other stuff is coming out in December like “Christmas on Cherry Lane” or “Friends & Family Christmas”.

Lou

Poor Cat!

Chris Mackenzie

Oh yeah they do Gory!

Diane Furlong

Can’t wait to watch!

JustinThyme

I’m so excited for all of the interview with the vampire videos ❤️
