INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE E2 - UNCUT

Comments

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed he looked like Morpheus!

Yasmin Khoshnood

Louis is not a reliable narrator...

Emmanuelle St-Jean

CAN'T WAIT FOR EPISODE 3!

Chris E⁷

The opera scene and later eating the singer reminded me of Hannibal

Joanna

I think it was a good thing to point out because they only missed it as it was mentioned at a point that they were chatting through.

Suze

Consider Queen of the Damned movie as a follow up. Not a direct sequel to interview but same series

Trei

Thank you guys, I guess i should give it a try!

Mel Baker

Thak

Re: people not noticing Louis’s eye change, honestly, white people at the time didn’t view black people as human. I don’t think they would be bothered to look them in the eyes and notice the color. Still happens in some places, unfortunately. People look over folks for whatever reasons — racism, ageism, fatphobia, not deemed “attractive enough.”

snallahej

I didn't mean to say you did , i meant it as an a overall statement to everybody because once you start trying to explain one thing everybody wants to explain everything instead of just letting them watch the show And figure things out as they go.

Kitty89

Louis sees all the red flags and is like "I look good in red."

Jamie

loool babes, if you think this relationship is in ANY way healthy or functional you've got a big storm coming ^^ not even red flags, it's just red blankets flapping about... which is one of the reasons i love this show so much

Liliana Alves

One thing to keep in mind, which the shows does well by having Daniel call BS on Louis' details from time to time, is that we're seeing and hearing Louis' version of events. Keep that in mind as we move forward. The show doesn't want you to forget that with Daniel there calling him out.

Mark Walker

I agree Alex, coming out is a journey that's never really over, just becomes less and less stressful. Still hate the fact there is a need to come out at all.

Chris Mackenzie

oh i LOVE messy queer characters & relationships. i LOVE this show. i LOVE louis. and i love that you're finally reacting to it. v excited to see your thoughts on what's coming next!

lo !!

The books are wonderful. I consider the first 3 in the Vampire Chronicles to be the best. They are: Interview With The Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, and Queen of the Damned. I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have read the first 3 over and over. My favorite author and my fav books of the series. The first paragraph in Interview With The Vampire is what drew me in as I stood in the book store and thumbed through the book deciding if I want to read it or not....it is as follows: "I see—" said the vampire thoughtfully, and slowly he walked across the room towards the window. For a long time he stood there against the dim light from Divisadero Street and the passing beams of traffic. The boy could see the furnishings of the room more clearly now, the round oak table, the chairs. A wash basin hung on one wall with a mirror. He set his briefcase on the table and waited.

D.A. Rowley

I’ve never been into Vampire or scary movies but this one has been pretty interesting.

Diane Furlong

I really enjoy the books but they are quite different from the show.

Jamie Schmidt

You'll understand Louis a lot more in the later episodes. He's very hypocritical.

Jamie

I was so stressed out about whether he ate the baby the first time I watched it, I had to pause the show and google it. I’m not sure I could’ve come back if he’d eaten his nephew.

Crystal Pritchard

I recommend going to the opera. Choose something fun like The Marriage of Figaro and you will fall in love with it. 😉

Michaela Morávková

Lol. Didn't realise that was going overboard :D

The Wanton Dogfish

That might sound like a silly question, but are the books worth reading? i really liked the show (so much to unpack regarding relationships) and thought i give them a try.

Mel Baker

you dont bite the blood, you suck it...

Aurora

Anne Rice's vampires can not read the minds of their fledglings. They can read other vampires thoughts but not those that they make themselves. One thing that I seem to remember from the books, that this show doesn't show, is that Lestat taught Louie to only kill bad or evil people because drinking the blood of the innocent could drive a vampire mad.

Steven Jump

That is what he meant its explained again later . Lets not go overboard trying to explain everything , more things are explained as the show goes on .

Kitty89

Louis refers to his early time with Lestat as an apprenticeship early in the episode, and that's probably the best way to view it. It's less a matter of Lestat trying to necessarily be controlling (although there's likely a bit of that, given who he is) but the fact that Louis needs to learn to walk before he tries running. He needs to figure out how to feed without freaking out his prey and having them try to escape, and how to avoid burning up in the sun, before he gets to all the levitating and mind reading. Baby (vampire) steps. :D

Joseph Carriker

I can’t get over how hot and gorgeous power couple they are also an interracial queer vampire couple like it’s so good !

Dd44 🩷💜💙

OMG! I thought you'd reacted to the movie from -94, so I'd put it on the back burner. 🫠😅 Just realizing now that's the TV show!! I have to use this evening to catch up. Anyway, thank you so much ❤️

Stian Kristoffersen

I think Lestat meant you can't hear the thoughts of a vampire you've sired, rather than you can't read the thoughts of other vampires.

The Wanton Dogfish

Im loving the new hairstyle and color on you Alex 🤩 you fine as hell 🔥🔥🔥

Frances

This will be fun to watch this evening. Getting ready to go to work shortly. It’s going to be a ASWT Patreon and YouTube evening. 💕 Thanks Guys
