Watching this a 3rd time and during the scene where Will is drugged I wondered “where are his gaurds?” Wouldn’t they have stopped him from getting dangerously high intoxicated?

I don't think he's had much of either at home, just constant "now you're my direct heir you must.........". Poor lad must feel like his whole life is in a tailspin.

The fact that it outs him is kinda the least of the trauma here

He records that video to probably tease him about it later along the lines of "oh you finally made out with a girl" but then he sees it's Simon. Not only someone August has trouble with and someone he regards as "lower class", but he's also a boy. And that means he doesn't know Wilhelm at all. Probably questions if he knew Erik at all, too.

2023-09-25 06:42:33 +0000 UTCI admit to occasionally shouting at Alex and Josh for either talking over important stuff (Young Royals is too tightly scripted for you to get away with that) or looking away from the screen, because visual details are so important in this series too. And I also have watched Red, White and Royal Blue just once and enjoyed it. Might re-watch it through a reaction to it, but I still think the book is great.

Season one ended at Christmas. I still say Christmas with Wilhelm and Simon's families at Drottningholm slott (Drottningholm Castle the real Royal family residence) would be very cool.

I don't know how many times I've watched Young Royals, both seasons, and it never gets old. Particularly watching it again with people like Alex and Josh. Except I do holler at them a lot when they talk over important lines! LOL

Josh having partly forgotten about the crunch points of this episode made it all the more interesting, seeing the effects of suddenly remembering why particular scenes affected both of you so much. Prepare to go through the emotional wringer yet again in episode 5 and the finale. 😭 Edvin said in a recent interview that season 3 would probably drop early next year, but as season 2 arrived in November last year, a lot of people are still hoping that it might be earlier. Thanks again, guys for taking the time to re-watch this for us and I look forward to seeing you for episode 5. ❤️

2023-09-24 21:06:38 +0000 UTCI think one of the many beautiful things about this series is that Lisa Ambjörn and her writing crew just assume that their audience is very smart. The script is very rich but compact. So much is communicated by the skill of the actors and not necessarily by dialogue. In the football field scene that we have just watched, Simon finds Wille (the man he is maybe in love with) in that condition and we just know, without being told, that Simon is thinking of all the times he found his father in that condition. This series is very special.

Some answers to what you talked about: The ”teacher” that was hugging Wilhelm in his room is accually the principal of the school and not a teacher. Eric was driving his red ferrari when he was in the caraccident. The car that he took Wilhelm to school in. The funeral was almost as big as if it would have been the queen who died since Eric was the crownprince and next in line. You wear a white tie to funerals if you are close family to the person who died. Season 3 will come out early next year according to Edvin (Wilhelm’s actor).
