Lore

So, we all know Helping Neighbors, Gym Slut, Set up by a baby orc and a few other of my stories occur in the same universe and I’ve been leaving hints around. I thought it would be funny to give you a bit more lore into my brain’s universe.

1. Once orcs meet their mates, there’s magic in the union, so the heat between them starts to slowly build. That’s why in Gym Slut their first encounter was so hot, because they’ve known each other for a bit, they’ve been slowly dancing around each other and when they got together… BOOM. But it’s not the only place where it happens, it’s the same in Set-up by a baby orc, so expect to get some more build up heat soon. Also happened in Out of jealousy story, which is also a Stormblood brother, but their build-up was a lot slower, took years to explode.

2. Minotaurs can smell their mate’s emotions.

3. The Stormblood and Blackthorn all will get their story (if things continue like this and everything is good at least). You have curiosity for any of the characters yet? I’ve been leaving hits all over.

4. Orcs and humans can reproduce, and so can minotaurs and humans, but there’s some incompatibility between other species. So nagas and humans, for example, wouldn’t be able to have a kid. Nor could dragons and humans.

5. The world where all this happens has known about monsters, for a long while, they aren’t something new or particularly special. BUT, the same way we can’t know everything about other cultures, they also don’t know, that’s why most humans don’t know about the mate-situation, or don’t know that nagas need special fountains at the entrance of their homes to clean the dirt from their tails. So, they do have cultural differences that play a huge part of the story, but I’m not particularly into writing specism as part of my stories because I don’t think I could portray it correctly, but some miscommunication and problems due to cultural differences… yes.
