You are almost excited for the pick-up time. Not only because that would mean the awful day would be over, but because you can’t stop thinking about certain orc who said was going to be there at the end of the day. You don’t want to lie to yourself, so you can accept it was the only thing that made that hell day bearable.
The kids were awful all day long. Between mini monsters falling down, getting hurt, or fighting, you hadn’t stopped even for a second. Your stomach was grumbling in protest as you saw the kids getting a snack when their families picked them up, but you still had one kid waiting before you could go get a snack yourself. And it happened to be the baby orc you liked the most (don’t tell that to the other kids, it would be mean).
The baby orc was babbling about the amazing coloring book his aunt got him yesterday when you saw a big black truck park at the other side of the street. And you had to restrain yourself not to stare at him with open mouth as he stepped down the car and pushed his glasses over his head, his long hair pushed back and making you want to faint like a Victorian lady.
He opened the back door and took… a plant? Why was he carrying a potted plant? Your thoughts about the plant were completely forgotten when he walked to you, a big smile on his lips as he waved his nephew and send you a mischievous wink. Your heart was about to escape your chest at that point.
“Hello there, little man! How was your day?” He asked, kneeling next to the baby orc who was staring at him like he hung the moon.
You could relate to him because your panties were almost melting at his actions. Why was he so fucking cute and sexy? It was unfair to your poor human hormones. And when he stood up in all his tall as fuck glory and extended his hand to you, you almost swallowed your tongue. Fuck, he looked even more handsome this close.
“I brought you this,” he said, offering you a potted plant with beautiful fragrant white flowers. You took it with a knot in your throat, why was he so nice when you hadn’t been nothing but awkward around him.
“I- Thank you,” you said a bit chockedly. “That was very thoughtful,” your voice was barely a whisper but he smiled and your heart skipped a beat.
You had a very bad day and him giving you something was making you more emotional that it should. To the point that you could feel your eyes filling up with tears. Oh, no. You weren’t about to cry in front of your orc crush. Oh no.
You didn’t have time to say anything else. “I-” He scratched the back of his head, looking sheepish. “I wanted to ask you if you would like… If you would like to go on a date with me,” he finally let out with a half smile that made his tusks gleam under the last rays of sunshine hiding on the horizon.
Your heart stopped, and your brain short-circuited, staring at him with your mouth hanging open. You were about to say yes when you heard a yell behind you and some little body pushing against the back of your knees, propelling you forward without time to stop the fall.
Your whole body tilting to the side and you hit the floor with a hard thud. “Oh, dungus,” you cursed, afraid that a kid could hear you cursing.
He didn’t have such manners. “Oh, fuck,” he exclaimed, his hands frantically hovering over you, without touching.
“Uncle, you said a bad word! I’m going to tell mom!” The precious baby orc said, covering his mouth as if it was sacrilegious that his uncle just cursed.
You almost wanted to laugh, but the pain in your wrist was horrible and the only thing that escaped your parted lips was a groan of pain. Unax looked at you with a mix of anger and worry in his face, crunching next to you and grabbing your wrist with his too big hand. It was starting to swell and it hurt like a bitch.
“Hospital. We need to get to the hospital,” he urged, helping you get back on your feet and resting his big as fuck hand on your lower back.
“What? No! No hospital, that’s too much, it’s just a sprain at most,” you told him, almost panicked.
“I’m not arguing. I’m taking you to the hospital,” he insisted. You were about to argue, but he grabbed you by the waist and threw you over his shoulder, hoisting his nephew with his free hand and carrying you both to his car like you weighted nothing.
You saw your naga boss laughing at the entrance of the building, covering her mouth with her hand as she waved you goodbye. Why was she so normal about this? An orc just whisked you away, and she said nothing? Weird.
