Set up by a baby-orc (part 3)
Added 2025-01-05 15:30:02 +0000 UTCA/N: What do you think about making this series a Patreon weekly serial? It would be shorter chapters/parts, but I could post one every Sunday for however long it takes to make this a whole story that I can maybe turn into a book. Does that sound like something you’d be interested in? Let me know in the comments, can’t read minds (yet!).
Orc (Unax) x fem!reader || sfw, meet-cute, soulmates
You’d been living on a cloud since the day you saw that big orc for the first time. Unluckily for you, he hadn’t appeared again, and you were almost vibrating with the urge to see him again. You didn’t know what it was, or why you were feeling like that, but the intensity inside of you was so big you didn’t know what to do with it.
So you threw yourself into your work, as you always did. You prepared extra activities for the kids, extra crafts, made some new decoration for the class, researched new toys they could like depending of the type of monster they were… Was that a coping mechanism? Yes. Did it make you better in your work? Also yes. But who cared if you had slept less than five hours in a row since you saw him last? You were being productive (and maybe losing your mind over some orc you didn’t even knew the name of).
And every day, you’d been expecting him to appear to pick up the baby orc in your class, but he hadn’t returned. You knew orc families were big, but you were extra surprised to know how big they actually were. Every day without a miss, some other family member had been to pick him up, all of them sending you a wink before taking the kid away and leaving you confused.
You were tired, you were looking almost like a zombie, the bags under your eyes were heavier than your soul and your hair was so messy you had to tie it up in the worst ponytail ever constructed. But the kids didn’t care, and you didn’t either, until...
“We meet again,” a deep voice said as you waited for the kids outside in the early morning.
You looked up so fast you felt pain in your neck. He was there, right in front of you, staring at you looking all handsome and freshly showered and so fucking good you wanted to eat him. And then you remembered you were supposed to be a normal human, an adult that had to take care of babies and look responsible and serious.
But that wasn’t what happened.
“I- You- Hellmorning,” you let out, embarrassment coloring your cheeks. “Hello. Good morning. Yes. That’s- That’s what I wanted to say. And then I mixed them up and... I- I’m rambling. Sorry. Morning. I’ll take your nephew in,” you finally said, your face feeling so hot you almost thought you are about to burst out in flames.
You took the hand of a very confused baby orc and walk inside the building, nodding along as he told you about the movie he watched yesterday and how the orcs in that movie had swords and his uncle (you didn’t know which one) promised him to build him one for his birthday. He was so cute you almost forgot about your awfully embarrassing moment with the only uncle you cared about.
“Hey! Wait!” You turn around and look up, and up, and up… Until you are staring into his beautiful eyes. Fuck, you can’t think when you look up at him like that, he’s so tall and so handsome and your brain is practically turning into jelly inside your head. “My name is Unax,” he said almost shyly.
“Nice to meet you,” you said equally shy. His hand was stretched in your direction and you took it without thinking.
The moment your fingers touched it was like the world exploded in fireworks, the noise disappeared and only you two existed. You never believed in that moment of movies where the slow camera rounded about them as they touched for the first time like it was life changing… But, right there, right at that exact moment, you believed in everything the romantic movies told you about.
“Teacher, Uzorg is stuck,” a baby naga screamed behind you, breaking the moment and sending you into a little panic. Uzorg, a baby minotaur, was obsessed with putting stuff on his horns, and he got stuck most times than not. Shit.
“Sorry, I have to…” You pointed back to the class where there were kids staring at the minotaur, who was about to burst out crying by the looks of it.
“I’ll see you later,” your orc (yours?! Where did that come from?) said with a smile as he turned around and left.
It only occurred to you later, so much later, that you never told him your name back.
Fuck.
