All of our capacity was taken over by the influx of spammers, so we did not have a lot of time for performance optimisations this month. Zendesk surprised us by charging us for the maximum amount of seats even though they were empty, currently talking with them about it...
On the plus size: data transfer costs are going down and speed is improving. Also increased the size of our ECS instances and that gave a major speed boost to the API
October was the month of starting with API optimisations and improvements to our search engine. We started using event-driven architecture (Lambda) and that ramped up the costs of the NAT gateway a bit. I think that when the search is implemented (end of November I hope) the costs of the database will drop rapidly :3
