The best thing about this film is that it’s not a “Hollywood” fairytale where it all goes right in the end and England win the trophy. The still lose in the quarters and is a heroic failure… And truth be told, any World Cup where you beat the Argies and the French is a decent one

For me this film tells the past, the present and the future of England Managers and England Players. Tonka is Gazza because of his loveable character and drink problem for one example. The end is what the England team should receive after a great tournament but as a nation we are too negative and we thrive on it too much as we are such an arrogant nation and we believe we should be the best at everything. Finally the journalist Phil Jupitus who became a bin man represents everything that is wrong with this country, whatever the England manager says it is not good enough and scumbags like journalists just sit there wating for us to fail so they have something to write about to keep their jobs.
