State of Decay

Moving forward.
Content, Algorithms, and the Future

Hey guys, this State of Decay will be a bit different.

No, Im not retiring.
No, Im not stopping doing NSFW content.
No, Im not taking a break.

So then what could the title be referring to? Well. That's the elephant in the room, lets cover him with a sheet for now.

I wanna talk about what I have been trying to do lately with the content and how social is always changing.

Alright, first of all, I wanna thank everyone for the support and patience so far I have received, it's been amazing to be able to create the things I wanna do and also the things you wanna see. When I decided to start being a creator I modeled the paywalls after what I had seen worked best for what I wanted to do.

What was that I wanted to do?

Simply show around what I think was lacking at the moment. Pixel content. I have always liked it and wanted more of it, so when I had the chance to do some, I started and well, the journey has been pretty fun! I still like it a lot, so no burnout anytime soon lol

But sadly things changed, among those things, the algorithms that control the flow of information, if you follow me on twitter/X you should know that some of my pieces get hit with some hard reach restrictions, while some of those restrictions "appear" to be lifted, the reality is that the overall model changed and that has pushed me to realize I gotta adapt to it, I can't keep doing the same flow of information, which is why I have decided to start exploring other platforms and ways to market the pieces. Boring stuff to most of you. The point here is that I'm gonna start exploring other platforms with some sort of "Short" content.

Ok, let's uncover this bigass elephant.

Content

This past year I have tried to refine a bit my techniques and styles, I know I'm known to be an on-model parody artist, but I have some pride and wanna expand into some side stuff! Thats where the Super series comes in, I have yet to know if they are well-liked or not which means I can't really compromise and do a longer content form for them since that style/resolution takes way more time.

Another branch I started to do with the content is those "POV Scenes" They are supposed to be a play on how the games change perspectives when entering the shops, I think without the mechanical context it's not easy to understand what im trying to do, it hinders the experience in my mind, but I believe these POV scenes are still well-liked since they expand the experience in a way, I still wanna refine the style but I think it's on the correct path.

I have a couple of surprises that are being cooked regarding "content", but, those will come later.

Now about the Heat In Season interactive/game, this month I finally managed to come back to it, to my surprise It wasn't working after a forced update on the GMS2 engine. Took me a bit to manage to make it work, so now I can properly go back into it, I'm gonna be honest here, while I like doing those mini interactive projects the time they consume is bigger than a normal project, juggling between this and regular content seems to be harsh on the releases for either of them, this is all my fault since I decided to make it like this, Im gonna explore in the future how to make it successful.

This is where things are gonna get a bit experimental, while the algorithms and social media rewards stability and not much change it usually changes when the core way that the algorithm works changes...

Algorithm

When I started doing content the plan was very simple and forward, with little to no exclusivity, and let virtual word of mouth help me support the content. It worked very well!...for some time.

I think we all have felt there's been a shift in the way content is being consumed and offered don't we? Not only NSFW creators, but all kinds of creators, these algorithms, these faceless entities, they have changed yet again the game without leaving creators much to do but to adapt and since the content creation is my lifehood I have no option but to adapt or die.

I believe this changes will be important for the future of my content and career, so please bear with me as I lay down the upcoming changes.

· The Natural Death Tier will become a tip jar tier

· The Natural Death Tier will be grandfathered to all the people that still subscribed to this tier

· VOTD Polls animations will now be "Semi-Exclusive" (I will explore 2 forms of releasing them)

· Milestones will be back in some form as full exclusive content

These are some changes I'm gonna start implementing. I wanna make the content more engaging and more interesting to y'all but I also have found myself cornered by the way I used to do things, now that the shift is here I gotta change and see what works.

The Future

What the future holds is always unknown but I'm positive it will be good for the content and me. I'm always planning what to do, how to do things better, and so on but at some point, I also have to realize there's a ceiling that stops me from perpetual growth, and that's where things have to move sideways, October will be a fun month, I will implement the changes I have said and also will start planning some of the upcoming milestones. Im hoping to show you some of the ideas that have been stirring now for a bit.

While this state of decay has been different and a bit more serious than usual (I know its a lot of text) I do wanna finish this in a positive note. So I wanna reassure you guys im not going anywhere anytime soon.

There is a lot more to come from me, I do hope you look forward to that!

Papanomics

Thank you mate!

Dead

I'd definitely say this is great news to hear. For me personally I love your art so I won't be unsubing anytime soon.

Icemask

Yes, unless you unsubscribe and then try to come back later

Dead

So if we are in the natural death tier, that means that we still get access to new animations going forward?
