LET'S ARGUE: First Album You'd Show Someone Who's Never Heard Music

Some of you guys have permanently lost aux privileges for this one 😕

Thank you to everyone who took part in this month's thread; gonna do a general episode next month!

LET'S ARGUE: First Album You'd Show Someone Who's Never Heard Music

Mine either! Second time it’s happened.

Dylan

i think continuum would be a good first choice. it’s not complicated or perfect, but it’s a solid album with good tunes and it would be a good starting point

Dylan

video doesn't exist :(

ajanim

I mostly agree with Anthony regarding my comment about Lemonade by Beyoncé although I also did consider the fact that there are themes of cheating within the context of the songs, however, cheating isn't as niche of a topic and is a bit easier to grasp compared to some more sophisticated topics and meanings touched on within certain music, which is why I thought it would work. Really happy to have one of my takes featured for like the third time now. Loved the video!

I stand by my opinion. I endorse anyone who’s first taste of music is Mr Brightside

I commented so fast because I saw an instant opportunity to manipulate malely Meme aside, it would be interesting to make noise music the foundation of someone’s music taste. Just give them like nothing else to go off of for a while. Then show them something more traditionally melodic and see how they react. I wonder if they’d like the more melodic music more, or if their taste would be so rooted in something atonal that they’d find it off-putting. I’m sure there’s a bunch of evolutionary reactions to sound I’m not considering and also it’s probably a crime.

Mobile version of patreon has been pretty terrible

EZGames69

ah gotchu. figured this was the most convenient & visually pleasing way of posting these, but will consider something like this if it's easier

The Needle Drop

Yeah that's fair. Part of me was hoping the versatility would make up for the less accessible parts of the album. I genuinely think Radio is a top 5 for the 90s.

Herbieguy

Nfr podcast has a cool little showcase that has one password for a section with all of their album reactions in one spot on Vimeo

Victor Atchley

Others I’m subbed to on here don’t embed but instead just post links with a password

Victor Atchley

is it just our links? i thought it's everyone embedding vimeo on patreon. if not, lemme know

The Needle Drop

p.s. Anthony loves naked city; his response was just kinda redundant after some of the others

The Needle Drop

For those of you saying the video doesn’t work, like usual you need to use desktop. His links often don’t work on the mobile app

Victor Atchley

I think "Die Lit" by Playboi Carti would be good. It's sort of new, has mainstream appeal, a lot of really fun songs with good production

Oh shit I got a cameo at the end! Nice! I've always wanted to be called a sick puppy by Fantano. I'm still laughing.

Herbieguy

Video not working

You're telling me the people who regularly comment "Melon, you didn't have to give it a 10 and call it the greatest album since Cherry Bomb" under every single one of his videos would give troll music recommendations? I'M IN SHOCK.
