A lot of their early stuff is hindered by the bad recording quality and unrefined songwriting that would improve later in their career. Most of the early records sound like unfinished demos.

2023-01-01 01:04:26 +0000 UTCAnCo from 2000-04 was their best streak for me. Even Danse Manatee grew on me for its creative structuring, sound textures, and arrangements. Their other stuff is okay but Feels and Merriweather are absolutely NOT their best albums.
