LET'S ARGUE: EDM Will Never Be Mainstream

Other topics include Joji only having one great song per album, and whether or not counting "2007" makes The Forever Story a 10 in Anthony's eyes.

And does he have ‘Wi’ or ‘Hi’ written somewhere else on him? I have often wondered abt this

I suppose I just framed my point poorly, I was saying that I wish that I could show people more out there music(Danny, JPEG, Clipping) and have them enjoy and appreciate them the same amount as if I showed them a more mainstream track(Schoolboy Q, ASAP, Denzel). I was speaking about how in my opinion it can be frustrating to show them a piece of music you really appreciate and have them not get it because of it just not being "normal" or building off of some existing material in the artists catalog.

Why do you have Fi written on the back of your arm?

Lol if it's any consolation you just happened to be the first take this time ;)

Ayo Mr Fantano you should really look into reviewing the new snarky puppy album out today

Looking back at my take (on art being difficult to consume as an outsider), it’s a mess. On one side, music is a form of “entertainment” and art, but on the other side, I guess if I had gone through a “Crow Looked At Me” situation and then had to play that music live at concerts, I would feel awful. Specifically returning to Phil, the line from Now Only, “I played these death songs for a bunch of young people on drugs” really hits hard. That being said, for those who need a companion piece for what they’re going through is probably the appropriate use of the music. I won’t act like I didn’t listen to a bunch of Radiohead and didn’t watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind when I was going through a tough breakup. Moral of the story, definitely a mess.

if i had a chance to give it more nuance, i'd say that EDM being mainstream aligns with Anime being mainstream- 10 years ago if you said you liked Anime everyone thought you were a weirdo. I feel that EDM is going through a similar shift in opinions

no way my take was so bad that fantano put it front and center to ROAST it and everyone else is also roasting me for it 💀

"EDM Will Never Be Mainstream" is up there for one of the dumbest hot takes I have ever seen, considering how popular the genre is. Even if you ignore the top 40 charts there are massive festivals dedicated to subgenres of some of the genres of EDM.
