Ideas for adapting the Storage Chest mechanism
Added 2024-03-16 01:24:21 +0000 UTCProblems with the current Storage Chest feature:
1. Clothing and items are all in the chest, which is a bit confusing
2. Story Mode and Challenge Mode items are interchangeable, affecting the design of Story Mode.
3. Story Mode can Save/Load, resulting in consumable items being put into the item box repeatedly.
New ideas:
1. Storage Chest only puts items, add closet to store clothes
2. Clothing is an unlockable mechanism with no quantity. As long as they are obtained in any way in the scene, they are permanently unlocked and do not need to be manually placed in the closet.
3. Mirror and closet are merged, you can use all the unlocked clothes when you look in the mirror.
4. Clothing can be put into the backpack to be changed at any time.
5. There are two types of Storage Chests: "Normal Storage Chest" and "Super Storage Chest".
6. Normal Storage Chests are only in the current scene, and the items in all chests are the same.
7. The Super Storage Chest is the same as the previous Item Chest, and can be used in any scenario.
8. Usually, Story Mode only has Normal Storage Chest and Challenge Mode only has Super Storage Chest.
Keep thinking ......

idk maybe more practical just having it as another separate interface. When open inventory add an additional tab. Same that works when looking into the mirror. Add outfits on that, along with preset options. Then instead use the Mirrors as an option to clean and freshen up. Cleaning all the scars and dirt off herself. Fade out when she touches it. Then have her all clean when fades back in. Then after have voice actress says something like Ahh.. much better. Just idea, instead of making constant smaller touches. On the convenances and better functionality. Why not just go all out and offer the best there is. Being always avaiable and ready at the players finghers tips.

2024-03-23 22:10:38 +0000 UTCI think a closet and mirror merge sounds good, it keeps items and clothing separate. It would be nice to have a way of knowing what clothing items we are missing, having them greyed out in the closet could work. Clothing works as being universal across all modes, wear what you want. Guns and ammo is a bit different, it would nullify difficulty if you can just store ammo from challenge mode for the story. I think storing a little amount would work, or to keep story and challenge ammo separate. One option I would really like is outfit slots, three or so slots where you can create and store outfits to easily switch between.

2024-03-17 14:23:41 +0000 UTCThe presented dev ideas sound good. Closet - yes please. Not being able to take weapons and stuff from challenge into story - thumbs up. As others have said it would be neat to save a couple outfits for easy use. Maybe one could use clothes store manequins for that? Then one could dress the manequins up too. Maybe the manequins could be unlocked as achievement rewards? And be placeable freely in the office :)

2024-03-16 23:26:25 +0000 UTCThe closet idea is perfect. Chest ideas are good. But should be affected by difficulty. As example RE1. On easy all chests were connected while on hard each chest was a simple storage space.

2024-03-16 12:58:02 +0000 UTCSo much yes! I really like the idea of permanently having the outfits once unlocked and stored in their own operate closet feature. Would be nice if the hairstyles worked the same way as well.

2024-03-16 05:37:19 +0000 UTCI like the idea of the clothes unlock and clothes in mirror. I'm constantly getting duplicate clothing which is a bit annoying. About the storage boxes. The fact I can collect weapons from the challenge stages and store them in the box is a positive thing. In the sense, it opens up the options for play. I wouldn't want to cheat and take weapons to story mode I haven't found yet but, having that choice would make repeated play interesting. Sort of like how RE4 allowed you to carry weapons through into the next playthough. One of the best things about the playteste is you can play the way you want to.

2024-03-16 03:28:15 +0000 UTCThis may be more complicated but maybe a color slider in the mirror/chest for some clothing pieces. Would be really cool to make some outfits match better and create a customized look.

2024-03-16 03:17:32 +0000 UTCI with the others clothing should just be unlocked when found and use the mirror to change the clothing. It dosent need to be an inventory option unless you plan on using clothing as a type of armor or certain clothing has perks like more health night vision ect....

2024-03-16 02:49:05 +0000 UTCBeing able to save outfits would be nice and also seeing something like a checkmark for clothes you already own, so you don't pick the same things accidentally when picking up rewards.

2024-03-16 02:05:41 +0000 UTCHaving clothing be unlockable and just changed through the mirror seems the most convenient
