He is a well known and respected knight from an older conflict. Roose Bolton is much smarter than Walder Frey and understands the danger of such a man escaping. Fun fact.. The Blackfish was a childhood hero of Jaime Lannister.

Of all the episodes in Game of Thrones, the Red Wedding is the most shocking. The worst is over. There are many more tears to come, but not on that level. You can do it. Eventually all debts will be repaid and karma will have it's way. The Red Woman follows the instructions of the Red God which are shown to her in the flames. She has no agenda of her own. When she burned the message from the Wall, she got new instructions in the flames.
