Last night a minor knocked on my door with no shoes on, in distress-

Last night at around 11pm we heard a knock on our door and when we opened it, there was a 15 year old girl, no shoes, no jacket, bawling her eyes out. I quickly rushed her in my house and closed the door. She said her dad was drunk and she was scared so she ran out because she said she was worried her dad would hurt her. Keep in mind it’s still cold here in Canada. I called 911 and helped her contact her boyfriend and his mom. The 911 operator said that I can’t stop her from leaving obviously but to get all the Info of the people she’s leaving with, as much as I could. Thankfully the police got there right before the boyfriend did and they got their information and let her go with them. That was surprising to me because they used to just bring you back home when I was a teenager. I’m glad they took her seriously and let her go where she felt safe. WILD end to the night.
