San Francisco in 16k: First Ursa Cine Immersive Release

Part 1 San Francisco 8k60 Quest is now available (PCVR Part 1 comes tomorrow)! Part 2 will release tomorrow night, and part 3 on Sunday night.

What a month. Between exotic new workflow to learn, new camera, creating new rigging for new camera, figuring out how to make Meta viewable versions of the Ursa Cine Immersive content (not easy), renders now taking a whopping 40 hours per 20 minutes and additional 24 hours for three versions (64 hours for 20 minutes on a RTX5090) it’s been hectic to say the least. The experience was actually done almost a week ago, it’s been baking ever since .

PCVR/Apple versions are now two different versions. Vision Pro can still watch PCVR version as before, but there will be a new native Vision Pro 16k90 version coming next week. Future releases will have Meta+ Native Apple versions released at the same time. PCVR version will release 1-2 days after these are released.

16k90 requires special paid professional encoder not available in Resolve and I have partnered with an encoder company that does content for Netflix/Meta/Apple :D Will announce more about this when I am able to deliver with the new encoders most likely end of next week.

The new encoders will also make future releases 20-30% more bitrate efficient for Meta/PCVR version as well so expect even more pristine Meta/PCVR versions coming soon with the new encoders!

With three versions I will have to start limiting the number of PCVR content I have available for download at a given time. New PCVR content will have 2-3 months availability before being removed from server. Meta and Apple versions will be the only ones available after that timeframe.

Expecting Yosemite to be complete in about three weeks. Already cooking up some exciting content ideas to film in October and November. Contemplating a monthly 30 minute live video call on the discord where members could ask questions on past videos, filming challenges, discuss ideas for travel or new content etc with me live. I’d be on video call talking and you would talk through chat. Thoughts?
