I had not thought about it, but I will look into it. First thought would be just how much can you really see given how intense the sun is. Also, the ND filter set I use only goes up to ND64 (the only premium set of filters designed for 3D) which wouldn’t be enough for good solar definition and would be way to much for seeing anything else on the ground. Example: If I could somehow get the sun to the right exposure, the rest of the VR180 video would look completely black, and I don’t think that would make for an interesting video. Normal videos have the advantage of only capturing a very small amount of the scene, I need to worry about the exposure of the entire 180 degrees with VR videos.

I'm not sure where you poll your members for future recordings but here's a suggestion that may have been missed on an earlier post. Have you considered filming astronomical events as well? Whilst you'll miss the 2023 Annular solar eclipse due to conflicts with NYC Comic Con have you considered April 2024 solar eclipse? See https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/news/2332/new-nasa-map-details-2023-and-2024-solar-eclipses-in-the-us/

There was almost no ambient light in those very low light scenes, and that did introduce a tremendous amount of noise. I do apply heavy NR, but it does degrade the quality very quickly and I am always trying to find that perfect balance between more NR vs better quality. You should have seen it before NR, it looked like it was snowing confetti haha. Even using professional cameras such as the one I use, there is just no way around noise if you have so little light to work with. Hollywood gets away with it because every scene they do is staged. Even if it looks like the dead of night, they have a ton of staged lighting coming in from all directions. As you can imagine, I cant exactly walk around with a flashlight at night blinding people lol. In the future, I will definitely do better at avoiding the areas with very low light, but this again is a balancing act - as the most interesting nightlife tends to happen at night lol. Its hard to find lively events in the daytime but as you can see from the upcoming schedule, there is a ton of exciting content coming soon and none of it will be filmed at night. I do wonder if I should just ramp NR to max sometimes and take the quality hit. I could render some of Vegas with maxed NR and put it on the shared drive for you to see which you like better? Could be a fun experiment to compare the two :D

Watched the 10bit Vegas episodes. High quality and good but noticed quite a bit of noise in many of the low light scenes. Curious as to what you do for NR. Would removing this noise affect the video quality too much?
