2023-06-30 22:14:58 +0000 UTCSo it seems technology has been improving in the few months I’ve been doing this and Meta has really steeped up their game lol. Turns out I can now render and playback smoothly at high bitrate 10 bit color! Going from 8 bit to 10 bit rendering has actually seen a similar reduction in artifacts to the triple sized PCVR only version and I couldn’t believe it when I first saw it myself. I’m gonna go ahead and start re rendering most of my episodes in the new 10 bit format, it will take a little time to transition but look for the “10bit before a video to know it has changed already. I’ve just updated the preview for Vegas with the 10 bit preview version. Vegas Part 1 comes again tonight, pert 2 again tomorrow - in 10 bit. Q2 users will see about a 30% reduction in compression artifacts while color depth will remain 8 bit, Q pro users will see the same reduction but color depth will display increased colors with true 10 bit (Q pro has 10 bit panels) There will be no extra charge for this upgraded feature.
