So enjoyable to watch your reactions/commentary, I don’t know when I’ll get to comment again because there’s so much of your content to binge 😅 By the time I catch up on one series your completing another lol. I’ve already seen your reactions for solo leveling, frieren, and rezero. I’m wondering which one should I watch next?

2025-10-01 06:20:11 +0000 UTCI really loved this movie back when I first saw it but there were a few parts that I wanted clarification on so I went ahead and read the VN. That definitely cleared some things up but I was a bit bummed they had to cut out some stuff to fit into the running time. One heartbreaking detail they leave out of the movie is that Future Shouko, the one with Mai's heart, actually ends up marrying Sakuta in that timeline. She comforts and sticks by him after Mai's death and they eventually spark a romance and end up getting hitched when Shouko is in college. But she comes back anyways because she wants the one she loves "To smile. Even if it isn't for me." So the one who helps him save Mai by going back to the past isnt Makinohara Shouko; but Azusagawa Shouko, his wife. It's a sad scene they leave out that helps emphasize just how much Shouko also struggles and sacrifices in all this. I'd also recommend the manga adaptation of this arc! It's drawn and told from Shouko's POV so we get to see how she ends up in certain scenes in the anime and how she turned into the Shouko-san that Sakuta first meets at the beach. All in all, this is a great watch-along and movie that leaves you thinking. Cheers, guys!

2025-09-30 17:33:33 +0000 UTCIt really is like how you said that all of season one kind of was the setup or framework for the movie. One thing to note is Koga's arc of repeating days and living through an alternate future just to go back and do it right afterwards. We were then shown how all the major events somehow happened more or less the same anyway, like the universe course correcting in a way. So the implication seems to be that pretty much all of season 1 sans Shoko played out pretty much the same.

This movie was such an emotional rollercoaster As for Graham's question as to how Shouko got cured when she went to the past, it is implied that donors drastically increased due to Mai's "Girl with heart disease waiting for a donor" movie she said she acted in
