Pics 189: Test Pics before I start...

Time to start working on new models. Sometimes this is the most fun and also most nerve wracking part of a new project. Foul up here and you could set yourself up for lots of extra work.

What I've been doing is making test pictures. First one above is Ariane in her new basic black dress. It's shorter, but still has slits up the side, so accidental flashes are likely to be common.

On the right is my test for Rebecca. Skinny, check. Blonde pixie styled haired and blue eyed, check. Wears clothes that shows off her expensive underwear, check. Might tinker a little more, but close enough for now.

 Another thing I did was put together a complete house set: Living room, bedroom, backyard all combined. The resulting file is huge and everything renders slow. The "house" I used in Date Ariane Remastered comes with a Daz version. Daz and Poser both use different types of textures for their renderers, so having a Daz version is helpful.

With the full set built, I can break it into individual pieces and make pictures render faster, just needed a reference to where everything goes. Here's the backyard with a new hot tub. Included in attachments is two bedroom and a kitchen references. I repeated the thing of hanging a print of Monet's "Water Lillies at Sunset" on the bedroom wall and colored all the walls, curtains, furniture, and pillows using colors from the painting.

Another concern is making a "wet look" for Ariane. I did it in Ariane in Paradise, but that was because I used a hairstyle that was designed to look wet or dry. The new hairstyle does not have that feature, so I faked it. Applied a shiny texture and positioned the wet hair closer to the face and neck. It'll do.

Also this picture is a use of the "house set" that I made. I positioned a camera over the hot tub, pointed it to the house and focused the camera on the back edge of the hot tub. Then erased the hot tub, and rendered the blurry house. You can clearly see into the living room and bedroom.

Then I put a "wet look" Ariane sitting in the hot tub all by itself using the house render as a static background, played with the lighting to sort of match, and boom first test pic of wet Ariane in a hot tub.

And final reveal: The new opening screen for the game. If I haven't released alpha 0.1 yet, this will be the new opening screen. I recolored the red couch to a forest green to give an interesting eye catching color contrast to the opening display.
