Pic 120: Relay at the Warehouse with Lex

A once in a blue moon 5th Pic of the Week thanks to there being 5 Thursdays this month.  You are probably seeing this and asking who's the one on the right?

Well their name is Alex Tagore, a fellow warehouse worker of Relay, whose parents came from Bangladesh.  A non-binary artist who is also Relay's best friend.

I created them because of some odd coincidental circumstances: 1.) I wanted a "Rebecca" type character for my futuristic dating sim. I already established that Relay lives and works in a government warehouse, and likely the people she hangs out with the most are fellow warehouse residents and workers.

2. I have been playing on and off the game "Watch Dogs Legion", a game that came out in 2020, to ultimately bad reviews, but I bought it this year on sale, because I've played Cyberpunk 2077 too many times but looked for something similar, and this Ubisoft title fit what I was looking for.  With some mods and game hacking, I've turned it from a hack and slash violent game into a less-violent puzzle stealth game where you help strangers who's lives have been ruined by gangs and fascists, and it is actually fun that way!

3. Like "The Sims", Watch Dogs Legions randomly generates NPCs who you can take control and play as actual characters. "Lisa" Tagore is  one of those randomly generated NPC's who has just the right combination of looks, skills, and personality, to become my favorite character. I learned to recreate her in every play through of the game.  If Relay was going to have a cool best friend, why not Tagore, with a non-binary first name, "Alex". So I made a Genesis 8 version of the character.

4. Over the weekend I finally saw Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse, and there is a character in the movie named Hobie Brown who only appears for 5 minutes, but who is the best character in the movie.  Someone made a 35 minute video about those 5 minutes just to prove how cool he is.  Tagore has those same punk anarchist hacker vibes, so they are my "Hobie Brown" character for this upcoming game. Since I am having fun sneaking around authorities to help ordinary folks in WDL, I want to add that aspect to my next game, (make a date out of helping others!)

Tagore doesn't work without sleeve tats and elaborate ear piercings, and I haven't added those yet, but got the female body and makeup mixed with male wardrobe and hairstyle.

Updated: I added tats and piercings and uploaded a render of "Alex Tagore", which is the name I am going with, in Instagram.

September Preview

Tomorrow is Sept 1, new Patreon month. Dater levels can get Date Ariane Remastered added to their itch.io collection for free, if they haven't already.  Hopefully I can finish the voice work on DAR, I am guessing I'm right at the half way point.  Finished or not I'll post an update patch here on Patreon.  I'm hoping to test and roll it out to the world in October.
