As promised this past week was all about updating the Bonnie path. This one took less time than the Wendy path and I actually had some fun updating it.
Spoilers for the old game, but I won't spoil changes. This path has a strange history. The original Bonnie was poorly designed and not very attractive, and not well liked by play testers, so I redesigned her. The story was based on me playing a lot of 8-ball in college. My freshman year I took a Billiards class as my PE requirement, and class was held off campus at a billiard room behind a bowling alley (I could have taken a bowling class instead, but it was full)
For Something's In The Air I wanted to bring back the strip club, but I pretty much exhausted what I could do in Ariane's Date Simulator, so based on my college experience I came up with this Bonnie path where you play pool at a strip club.
But then I couldn't come up with a good ending and testers noticed it ended too quickly. I had several possible ways to end it, but couldn't decide, so I decided to do them all. Basically every time you play the path, you get a different ending, some sad, some scary, some funny, there are 9 in all.
I decided for the update to liven up the worst ones. This image comes from one that I didn't change, because I still think it is hilarious, but it was funnier 10 years ago when the Overly Attached Girlfriend meme was popular.
I mention it because it inspired a change to one of the lame endings -- the one where Bonnie complains about how bad you are in bed -- and I decided to add a hilarious "meme" twist to it, but you'll just have to wait until the new release later in the month.
