Something's In The Air Redux Beta 0.2

The latest version of Something;s In The Air Redux version 0.2 is now out at https://arianeb.itch.io/somethings-in-the-air-redux/patreon-access Update notes can be found at https://arianeb.itch.io/somethings-in-the-air-redux/devlog/416377/the-somethings-in-the-air-redux-project-02

Picture wise there are only 148 this month compared to 270 last month, but the reason for that is 52 of those new 148 is new scenes and content that previously did not exist in the original SITA.  So I spent a lot of time writing new scenes instead of rendering.

New content wise the Paula path is now back in the game, but there is an unlock process that I will not spoil at this time.  Most of the fresh new content comes AFTER the Paula path has been completed.

And this is the part where you come in.  I have no idea how easy or difficult it is to reach the new content.  Obviously the Paula path is the old endgame content, but that content is now designed to show up somewhere in the middle.

I designed the new content to make it "feel" like you accidentally stumbled on it, but I may have done too good of a job and I'm afraid some people might miss it completely.

Once you reach the new content, it is very different from anything else in the game, or any of my other games (or any game that I know of). I have a feeling most people will either find the new content really funny and interesting, or very confusing.

Would love to hear in the comments.

The game opens up with a request to erase the game's memory. You don't have to do this, but there may be odd things that happen if you don't.  (ditto using old saved games).  This is another thing worth testing.

What is still missing is a proper ending, new women to date, and the "Rachel Meets Ariane" epilogue.  All coming in the coming months. Temporarily the ending is the old 5 epilogues ending, which I plan to scrap since the only good epilogue is the Ariane one and it is pretty much covered in Ariane in Paradise.

Thanks. I am find the old images annoying, too. Reminders of how much work I still have to do. That is actually my focus right now. I want to redo all the old pictures ASAP. I already started working on the sci-fi fantasy fest ones. The Amusement park should be fairly easy since I rebuilt the set for DAR, though the activities in SITAR don't match up. Rachel's house is going to be the most annoying as I have to retexture and relight the entire house. There are about 3 big scenes on Ariane paths that need to be done, and the strip club and Bonnie. And THEN the video game stuff for the Paula path. I'm thinking two or three months tops. Then I want to add the big ending, and add "Rachel Meets Ariane", and hopefully write and illustrate a bunch of new dating opportunities with new characters. This will likely end up the biggest game I've ever done when it is all completed.

While I wouldn't say it was "easy" for me to find the new path, I did find it without too much pain and suffering. And I think it's really cool. I'm also surprised anew every time I come across one of the "old" images - it reminds me how great all the remastered ones look.

First, thank you for writing new scenes instead of just rendering pictures. Played it several times and reached the new content easily. I like the way the new content was integrated and yes, it „feels“ like you accidentally stumbled on it. Don‘t worry about missing it completely – if people play SITAR carefully they won‘t miss it. So, imho you should not change that and „make it easier“ because this „entrance“ fits perfectly to what comes next. In fact, it is difficult to write about the new content without spoiling… I like it cause it came unexpected and it is one of those twists and turns I was hoping for. And thank you for the new content concerning Veronica‘s story. I hope this is just the beginning here. At the end of your post, you list a few things that are still missing. Sounds a bit like there won‘t be much more content in future beyond that? To put it in a nutshell once again: You did a great job with this new content ! I can hardly wait to see more of it. Thanks.
