Pic 47: Downtown Restaurant

This week I started working on the downtown area of the game.  I was thinking of radically changing it like the downtown in Hopepunk City, but since moving to Indiana IRL and driving through all the quaint downtowns here, I wanted to stick to the mid 20th century building façades common in midwest America.  The biggest obvious change is that the museum is no longer here replaced by a big multistory parking lot, also common in midwest America.

This is an update of a picture from Something In The Air which served as a waiting area to get into the downtown restaurant, and decided to bring it back for DAR.  Rachel is still studying (she has a few cameos in this game).  Bonnie is still bartending, though I had to change her hairstyle a little bit, as the SITA version looks too much like Ariane's hair only blonde.  I guess Heidi does everybody's hair in this town.

Tlaero and Mortze's latest game Chasing Beth had the cover of Date Ariane Remastered in the background of a scene, so I decided to return the favor making it look like a TV show (I actually wish the Elsaverse would be turned into a TV show, there is enough plot to make a good 6 episode limited series, though they would have to tone down the sex scenes a bit to keep it TV-MA). 

So two things happened here. I am planning a "demo" game that consist of the pre-dinner scenes and the five dinners, and realized that the restaurant dinner is the very last scene I need to update to make that demo, so I wanted to make it look really good.

At the same time I needed a new waitress model for only this one picture, and was in a nostalgic mood, so Ariane from the HTML game makes a brief cameo in this version of the game.

I was also thinking about other games putting in the background characters. The couple on the left are Rachel's parents from Hopepunk City.  The couple on the right are Tanner and his unnamed girlfriend that Veronica wanted to break up in Something's In The Air.
