Hopepunk City Beta Patch 0.81
Added 2021-09-07 17:00:35 +0000 UTCBased on feedback, I made some changes to the game, and since these only affect the game files it is easy to patch.
Changes:
- Nudged the difficulty down a little, the old "normal" is now "hard" and the new normal is halfway between old and "easy". 11 is now the level everyone must like you to get past meeting 1, and 27 is minimum someone has to be to get past meeting 2. Romance and sex scenes are affected by this as well, and should be easier to unlock.
- Maya's political dialog has been edited. Political opinions are toned down or removed, but parts relevant to world building have been kept in. Deep dives are easier to escape from.
- Corrected a number of spelling mistakes.
I'm uploading full 0.81 released to itch.io, but this small patch can upgrade your 0.8 easily. On PC or Linux, extract the file to the directory where the hopepunkcity.exe is located, say yes to replace files.
On Mac you control-click (right-click) the Hopepunk City app, Show Package Contents, go to Contents/Resources/autorun/ and drag the patch game folder, and if a window pops up, choose “Combine”.

Definitely made it a bit easier to get something other than the "bad" ending. I've managed 40 of 70 achievements.
