SCREWDRIVERS!

Remember when we talked about these being made when we weren't all physically distancing? Me neither.

These have been in the works for a long time now and I am getting closer to finishing the design.

I do not yet know what exact type of steel for the body, or wood for the handles, or cost/price, but at least the design is there.

As always, Patrons get first access to these!

SCREWDRIVERS! SCREWDRIVERS! SCREWDRIVERS!

Nice bit of Walnut or some Zebrano to make it pop....I'll take 12!

these are pretty cool. for the size the grind is fine for the tip, cause i can see this being used for more than its intended purpose. lol. though if these are introduced in smaller sizes, you may want to look at possibly doing a curved grind for the tips. it allows for much better purchase into flat head slots, and less likely to roll the edges of the screw. Wheeler gunsmithing screwdriver kits incorporate this grind. should check out a kit for some of the more intricate or finer screws.

Aaron Greene

Oh sooooo pretty.

Janet Dupree

Maybe a hole in the center to place another screw driver and get more torque?

Would need to be an alloy, titanium can be brittle

Great Design, love the shape of the handle.

Marco

Delicious! Lemme buy some in titanium

So excited the channel is awesome has totally helps my anxiety attacks just watching the master at work

Ditto. What is that

Kenneth Stephens

Also - what's with the nazi tool over there?

R l

Dammit!

Hand Tool Rescue

Suggestion - add a wood handle to both sides. I own 10% if you use this idea

R l

YES!! And a mini version for EDC!

love it! definitely want one

Ben

Can't wait to get my hands on one of these. I think your decision to offset the prying angle and the handle portion by 90 degrees is a smart plan.

Much want. Hope it can make its way all the way down to the other colonies.

Take my money!

Russell Loud

Yes, if this goes well, I will make more "normal" sizes.

Hand Tool Rescue

I want one!

I don’t think you make big enough!

Ohh. Looking good!

(Said in my best Soup Nazi voice) "No screwdriver for YOU!"

I am not sure about that handle...it looks like it would be more comfortable with two sides, rather than just one. ;-)

Gene & Linnea

I can ship you walnut and quarter sawn oak cutoffs for handles if you want. What we are using in the shop right now.

I don't need one. I expect I will be ordering in the first batch, sigh.

Michael Steeves

Very Nice! I'll be down for two!

My body is ready!

Jamie (The Custom Cave) Reader

Gorgeous! Are you thinking of doing some that are sized for mere mortal screws too, or just the giant ones that are an appropriate match for such a legendary screwdriver?

Brooks Moses

Screwdriver? Looks more like a fancy murder weapon!

dreamer

Gorgeous tool. :)

Mauricio Mariano

I can't wait to order mine! And what about the 9" engineers wrench?

kevin hollo

Beautiful.

Tyler White

I need that wood in my hand.

Chad from ManCrafting™

This'll look perfect over the mantle next to my Big Mouth Billy Bass Singing Sensation {tm] , or stuck into it's mouth. Or something.

ChuckD

I've always loved this style of screwdriver. Imma need at least two

Too sensual?...

Hand Tool Rescue

Haha! Oh 100%. First tests were with 1144 steel hardened to 55-60Rc, but I want to try even better steels.

Hand Tool Rescue

I am going to sell some with only brass pins and a template for people to make their own handles.

Hand Tool Rescue

Haha, it was made before the Nazis used that at their symbol, by Buffum Tool Co. from 1900-1924.

Hand Tool Rescue

Oooooo_ ME WANT! ME WANT!! Okay, so when can we buy one or more?

Please, I can only be so aroused.

Dan Dastun

Very sensual!

Fantastic!!! Can't wait!!!!!

As usual, your work looks awesome! My only vote is that whatever design you run with, that they are hardened - because I will put a tool like this to work on the most recalcitrant situations that occur in my shop. This design looks beautiful and useful. P.S. I may sleep with mine.

Marc McKenzie

Im glad you are overcompensating for my lack of... large screwdrivers in my tool set

Planky

B E E F Y. Curly maple handles too.

Mitchell

I want some!

HeavyJeffD

Oh yeah, definitely adding a couple to my toolbox when they become available.
