Number of chainsaws is a direct measure of personal wealth.

Haha thank you! You know I have never actually advertised the podcast in a YouTube video yet? I should probably do that...

Hand Tool Rescue

Clearly... there was a wholly inadequate amount of garbage on the floor. This revelation casts aspersions on your claimed modus operandi and I am moderately appalled. All kidding aside. I love the content. Thank you for inviting us in and giving a glimpse into where the hands on magic happens, har har. Loving the podcast and your input often sends me into fits of laughter!

The addiction begins!

I feel your hoarding tendencies, man. I use an old card catalogue to store my hand tools, and I have recently realized that I have a bit of an obsession with antique pliers. It’s getting so I will need multiple plier drawers. How much pliering can one person do?

You too!

Hand Tool Rescue

Thanks for another great video, Eric! Happy New Year!!

Definitely! Some do get used, but at least the others aren't getting rusty.

It begins...

Hand Tool Rescue

I definitely want to do that one day.

Hand Tool Rescue

I get attached to all of them, haha.

I like the idea of revisiting previous restorations! Our house is 90 years old, so most of the fixes and upgrades we make are undoing previous "improvements" or taking another swing at failed fixes, so that whole lifecycle is fascinating.

I collect steel-toe Crocs as well.

This video scares me as I've started collecting and restoring planes.

This was fun! I share your intense passion for the 19th century metal planer, and look forward to a video on it. It occurs to me an awesome goal for you would be to someday build a reproduction tool like your wrench, using all period tools you’ve restored!

Marc McKenzie

Talk about a savage hobby, collecting hand planes. How hard is it to decide which one to use? Great vid, and so interesting to see how your workshop is set up... 10/10

I am just a mere mortal.

Hand Tool Rescue

Thanks for that. Very interesting trip around your workspace. Interspersed, of course, by your usual wit. However, you have revealed your weakness to traits the rest of us are also prone to - hoarding, obsessive collecting, cluttered benches, inability to move old projects out of the workshop. We though you were above such frailties? You inspire us to do all of the above, and we love you for it.

The heat is the key to productivity!

Hand Tool Rescue

I've thought about it before.

Hand Tool Rescue

See, vids like this make me feel like a lazy bastard, mostly because I am, but if you saw the size garage I have to play in you would likely hate me... My only defense is that its not heated so I cant do things during the winter or keep anything made of steel in it (Especially precision surfaces) or they turn to orange death.

Clifton Ballad

Have you ever considered collecting and restoring hand planes?
