Progress report/teaser

Howdy! Here’s what we're up to at the moment:

We’re still at our final stage, fixing bugs and rearranging layers. When an issue arises - Moana tells me, and then I’m resaving or redrawing a bit what’s necessary for our systems to work properly. It’s a step by step process with a bunch of hypothetical events and combinations of Kira’s stats+appearances. When my attention is not required, I’m writing new events for the future, drawing characters and filling missing gaps in the game.

I can’t name the date, because I will be wrong. I’m 90% sure that there will be another progress report/teaser post after this one, and then we will finally upload v0.4.5. So it should probably be up and running mid August, of course I will upload it as soon as we’ll finish it, I might run out of teasers if this continues:)

The end is near, and thankfully we only need to do this rework once, after its release we will be working with what we have (our new systems) up until the end of the game, or at least for a year. I mean, it is entirely possible that I’ll have another crazy idea that will require the butchering of our current code/art, and if I ever do - I’ll save it for Autumn 2020. After the rework, we want to focus solely on content. Partially because we’ve been working on this update for an extremely long time, and partially because we need to take advantage of our new systems and premade artworks.

Speaking of artwork.

(Work in progress). There’s a lot of places in defenestration where I’ve previously “sacrificed” artworks in favor of time, so I’m filling in those gaps in between working on the major issues.

Since we’re adding more tattoos and piercings, I’ve decided that it’s probably a good idea to finally give our tattoo artist (Takeshi Kovalchuk) some artwork. I’d rather just upload the update itself, but it’s not completely ready yet. This scene will probably be on screen for a minute, so I don’t think I’ll edit it that much in the actual game. It’s an “intro scene”, meaning that after this mini-event, it will be implied that Takeshi does Kira’s piercings and tattoos in the same fashion. Kovalchuk will become a vendor, you’ll see a different repeatable scene with a mirror, just to choose from a variety of tattoos and/or piercings (once we’ll add more of them to the game). Takeshi won’t remove any tattoos, since he values art, but he might be willing to swap them.

In the future he will also have some unique prison events and his own story-arc.

In addition to that, I’ve chosen to publish this particular teaser because it goes well with what you’re about to read in the next section.

For those of you who don’t know this yet, I’ll explain our tattoo/piercing creation process in four steps:

1 - we’re asking in the polls about the place of the tattoo/piercing.

2 - I’m gathering examples and ideas from everyone

3 - I’m drawing top three or four of them (by my subjective opinion)

4 - Patrons vote which one we’ll be included in the game.

Step one is done:

Next tattoo place - Legs or crotch (front);

Next piercing place - Nipples.

It’s time for step two. If you’re interested in seeing any specific tattoo and/or piercing in places mentioned above, please do send me your suggestions. If not, I'll draw my own ideas - which is also fine, but I wanted to include all of you in this process (only if you’d like to of course).

You can pm me here on patreon, on discord, email me (freshmulan@gmail.com) or just post your suggestion in our discord’s patreon channel. If your tattoo will win - I will credit you in the game (I’ll ask first). I’ll be gathering ideas for a week.

I’ll save all of your suggestions, so even if your idea doesn’t make it into the top three this time, it might make it in the next round. I intend to add new tattoo and/or piercing every month moving forward, since with the new system it won't be a hard thing to implement (except for breasts, those are hard). Oh, I’ve lost all previous suggestions, so if you already did this (almost a year ago), I no longer have them:( But I won’t lose any suggestions moving forward.

We’ll upload v0.4.5 as soon as we can, probably mid August. We’ll do our best to finish it up as quickly as we can.

The next poll should be up tomorrow (it will be about lip enlargements), and next progress report at the end of this week/at the start of the next week. Most likely, I’ll know the presumable date of release then.
