Enjoy These Useless Fun Facts Because I Love Color Theory: Magenta, the color of the light in the left side of the images, doesn’t have its own wavelength of light like the colors in the rainbow. Our eyes only see it when red and blue light are present about equally. Violet, which is just dark magenta, however, does have its own wavelength which we can see, and our eyes detect it less strongly than the other colors of light. Magenta and green are, I guess, technically opposite colors, so when they’re combined in light form, our eyes perceive white. This is because our eyes are really seeing red, blue, and green simultaneously. Also I am colorblind.
