Re: beta readers vs releasing the untested alpha, it depends on what you’re looking for. Like someone above said there’s more eyes to catch errors in the unedited alpha, but some people become overwhelmed at the volume of messages/suggestions/etc. so it depends on your preference

I know you've probably had lots of this but please take time for yourself when you need it, your readers will still be here patiently waiting. I'm more than happy either way, I definitely enjoy reading rough drafts ect but if you aren't keen on showing that to a larger mass I also understand. Can't wait to read the August update.
