Chapter 4 Sneek Peak [18k]
Added 2024-12-26 00:10:19 +0000 UTCMerry Christmas! I thought this would be a good time to drop the sneak peek. I wanted to drop a 34k version of it but I ended up moving scenes around and decided to keep some for the release since they're better with context.
Since this is a sneak peek, some scenes may be cut off and choices may not be finished. It's also largely unedited so if you do see errors or typos I likely know about it already hahaha! I usually beef up the scenes after everything is said and done. Anyway, here it goes!
This sneak peek focuses primarily on a scene with O! It goes without saying that this may change/will be polished by release. Hope you like it!

They were so ready to talk to jazzy and yet they got a reminder there’s some more important things than they are. Just like with their parents 😞

But It really is a weighty snippet, so much happened and needs to be unpacked from last chap to now, and honestly reading through it all is amazing. MCs exhaustion bleeds through the page, and again, we're only on chapter 4 lol. I'm going to give a special shout out to Jazzy, because her interactions are a field on landmines. She doesn't even mean to cause so much damage [yes, being so focused on herself makes sense] but it hurts so much when she blows us off after she asks how we are. It just makes this feeling of isolation seep into the narrative. The idea that no one really cares shifting in our peripherals. Truly, I get it, her life is so much busier, but when she says she's free she's not, and actions speak louder than words. It really pulls on my heartstrings because picking choices where the MC is trying to open up on how hard the show is, the attention is, and then MC getting stonewalled is such a knee-jerk reaction that makes my heart sink in response. I both love it and hate it. Great writing, I would live in it if I was strong enough lol.
