2026-02-06 23:07:03 +0000 UTCI like all three, but some people have issues with 2 for being more...strange I guess when it comes to meddling with the timelines. I didn't find it too confusing, 2 used to be my favorite but over time I started appreciating 1 more for being a bit simpler. There's quite a story regarding Crispin Glover (George McFly) and BttF, but without going into too much detail he and universal had disagreements both creatively and financially and there was occasional on-set tension (and to be frank, it wasn't always one-sided). He was recast in 2 and 3 and any scenes that weren't just reused from 1 were Jeffrey Weissman in prosthetics. To make it less obvious in the future timeline they had him upside down in that weird contraption. On a more funnier note yes Michael J Fox played both his son and daughter. So yeah, Glover sued them afterwards on the basis of illegally using his likeness without permission and won, also broadly creating new clauses regarding studios using actors' likeness. Weissman kinda got the butt end cause he got blacklisted for talking to Glover on the issue which likely helped him win the case, only for Glover to then stop talking to him for whatever reason. I don't know too much about the recasting of Jennifer but on a base level of understanding I believe Claudia Wells didn't return due to taking care of a sick relative.
