We're entering the finale portion of the Academy Arc!

The first parts of the finale are often collectively referred to as the "Storming the Castle" segment of the story, where the protagonist gathers together their team and starts working on a plan to take the antagonist down.

This is the last breather for both MC and the reader before the narrative gets much more intense, and it's important to tie up any loose ends or minor details at this point because once you're locked in on the boss fight, you're not getting off the rollercoaster until it's over! This upcoming fight, more than any of the others, will explain a ton about both the "main quest" of the series and Hyuga itself.

We also get more insight into MC's relationship with each of Masami's friends, and resolution too as the mask finally comes off. We see MC re-enter a leadership role we've seen them adopt multiple times before, be it with the Equalists, Uesugi, rice farmers or shogi nerds.

Just like in real life, it's around immature people that individuals with mature qualities and adult senses of responsibility step up. Appearances aside, MC is very much the adult in the room!
