2025-03-17 02:58:54 +0000 UTCI understand the sentiment of continuously critiquing Joe constantly, but also it’s because he’s been commentating for WWE for how long now? 3-4 months? & his commentary style just doesn’t match what’s happening in the ring. Small moments that have a large impact (e.g. when someone hits their signature move) isn’t called out. The only time he’s animated is during the finishing sequence & that’s very obvious. Pro Wrestling is story telling, & a commentator should be the narrator guiding us through the ebb & flows of a match, & he just doesn’t do that. He’s still commentating as if he’s still a football analyst, & as much as TKO wants to push WWE as a sport, it just doesn’t work. I’ll definitely admit I was hard on Joe early on when he first started, but I feel like at this point he isn’t going to change & it does slightly hinder the experience.

At this point, it honestly just feels mean to keep piling on. I know there will be an argument that no one is immune to criticism in a role like that, but I don't think it would get so much attention if content creators didn't keep fueling the subject. Can we not just leave the guy alone? Have your opinion, voice it like you would with a Booker T or Jerry Lawler, but let's just get off Joe's ass for crap sakes.
