Everything You Get in April's Samurai & Heavies Loyalty Bundles

Hello Patrons,

It's time for the full gallery of parts and multi-shell breakdown!

Samurai

In the images below, you can see that we've highlighted certain elements in bright orange, blue, green, etc (and you'll see similar images in many of our previous releases too!), and various images say "multi-shell" on them.

These colours mean that each highlighted element is actually a separate "shell" - a complete 3D object that it is possible to move, scale, interchange, or even remove entirely! Want to know how? We've got a few excellent text and video resources for you to check out;

Full written instructions of how to use Multi-Shell features in both MeshMixer and Blender can be found here.

Sonic Sledgehammer's Video Tutorial using MeshMixer.

And finally, an in-depth Blender Tutorial that covers advanced movement and manipulation of individual shells, as well as a whole lot more if you're interested!

Starting with the heads, you've got a broad selection of faces for both masculine and feminine Samurai, with the former's facial hair all being optional shells. The cloth lacing on the Shikoro is kept as a multi-shell element, which if removed, gives the helm a cleaner, more sci-fi appearance, as well as the variations in the helmet's maedate crests. Then there's a full set that have the iconic Menpo facemasks, and finally a few heads with gas masks!

The torsos come in two variants, the first featuring late period Itazane breastplates and optional ornate chainmail shells. These come either plain, or with an integrated Sashimono banner. The second has a sci-fi twist with a diesel punk inspired backpack, pouches and belt, and it too, comes with the option of a back-banner!

The Samurai legs feature multiple layers of optional armour. Each layer can be stripped away to reveal the layer beneath, allowing you to field troops in different levels of armour, and still look great! The option to remove the lacing from the laminar kusazuri, and the chainmail from the haidate, lends the legs a sleeker sci-fi appearance.

A generous set of arms allow you to field ranged troops with any Rifle-Stock joint compatible weapon, or go all in on close combat, with a full set of arms with open wrists that accept any of our Regiments hands holding weapons or accessories! Much like the legs, the chainmail and lace elements have been kept as shells, as well as the Sode spaulders too!

You're spoiled for choice on weapons too! You've got teppo rifles in both the matchlock and phase varieties, as well as pistol versions of each. And then you've got the iconic samurai swords - katana, wakazashi, and nodachi - three swords, in three variations! The classic steel versions, and the two sci-fi options of either chain or powered variety. Each sword comes with a sheathed version too!

Each unsheathed sword comes with regiments hands, and a standalone version without them (shown here). And lest we forget, a tessen, the Japanese war fan for signalling the charge!

Finally, we have the Hatamoto officer to lead your forces. This single-piece figure is replete with multi-shell options, including a unique Oni facemask, "horned daemon" kabuto, and nodowa neck guard, as well as all the standard multi-shells found on the base parts!

Posed holding his katana with one hand (multi-shelled), and an open right male shoulder joint, you can customise your forces' commander with any weapon you wish!

We hope that this breakdown has given you lots of inspiration to plan how you want to use April's bundle! As usual, we've provided the render images in ZIPs, attached to this post, for quick reference. If you have any thoughts, share them down below, or on our Discord

Special Forces 2 - Heavies Loyalty Bonus

As a special bonus for everyone that supports us in April, here on Patreon, or on MyMiniFactory Tribes, you'll be granted access to the loyalty bonus bits for Modern Special Forces Heavies!

6 pairs of KSG and vertical foregrip arms evenly split between our male and female Regiments joints. The vertical grips can also be used with some regular Pistol-Grip arms!

The Microgun Operator is a single-piece figure, but absolutely bursting with shelled options and kitbash opportunities!

Finally there are standalone versions of both weapons, and digital kitbash Molle with shotgun shells, just in case you wanted to add more to your troops before printing!

We'll leave you with some example figures of some potential builds for next month's parts!
