2026-03-03 06:13:15 +0000 UTCYeah, that's an artifact of me trying to wrap up the story faster than my original vision. Originally, we would have had another 4-5 updates before hitting the planned end. But with the story struggling to get votes these days, I trimmed down the plan to the minimum I could without the ending feeling cheapened. That meant cutting out a lot of the drawn-out battles, most of the Heroic Course stuff Jirou would have gotten up to, and much attention to the Guilds. We're still getting more-or-less the same end point, just more focused and with anything beyond what's absolutely needed to make it all feel properly buttoned up, trimmed out. Now we have maybe 2 full updates left, or a little less with this release. Maybe 25k words or so to wind the story to an acceptable conclusion.

But I'm glad this story is moving forward with this extra update and the one next month. This fic got me reading the rest of your stuff and it remains one of my favourites.
